  • Jeff, Linda, and Jean are all still there!

  • Mr. Landahl! My sophomore and junior algebra and geometry teacher! But wasn't his name Paul?

  • Also remember Jeff Renner's beard. At least he didn't shave off the stache, unlike that Raible character.

  • What year did Al Wallace pass away? I know it was before How Come's cancellation. Still miss that guy.

  • In This Clip, From 1:45 To 2:35, It Was KING-TV's KING 5 News At 5 Video Bumper From Tuesday Evening, September 4, 1979.

  • ENG looks like it was on film - 1979? My guess is that it was. I was an intern at KING in 1983 or so, and I think they were on 3/4" by then. Man, this feels like a million years ago.

  • "Seven...around two...wrapped by one!" I remember a fricking TIRE COMMERCIAL TAGLINE from when I was in grade school, but I can't recall the names of half the kids I went to school with. "How Come?" THAT, Al Wallace!

  • Jean Enersen looks and sounds just as good today as she did back then!

    Jeff Renner's stash is awesome!

  • Those huge console TVs in the Colortyme commercial are SO UGLY! About as ugly as the '70s fashions on the commercial's announcer. The '70s are so unforgiving, but it did give Fox "That '70s Show" and its occasional funnies.

  • Those were probably friends of mine at 5:29. I grew up in Renton and was in high school at the time..

  • I just caught the hilarious local Renton dudes hanging out in the background after the bomb scare at 5:29 !

My loser older step-brother, who is now a slimeball mortgage broker in San Diego, used to hang out with guys like that all the time in late 1970's Kirkland (before Kirkland was cool) to the great annoyance of my mother! Hilarious!

  • I grew up in Seattle in the 70's, and all these KING5 faces were like seeing old friends again! I also remember the late 70's being very brown, everything seemed brown and tan and beige, and the commercials at 2:30 prove my memory correct. Thank you so much for the fun time warp!

  • Wow, Aaron Brown doing a mundane human interest story at 2:00, lol.

  • thank u for posting this it bring's back memories

  • Al Wallace use to back in the day host a kid show called how come.

  • That was a GREAT show! Loved it. I keep looking for it on YouTube. Someone's gotta have it out there.

  • The on the spot reports starting from 1:54 are strangeley hilarious!

  • Wasn't that Brynn Thayer in the coffee commercial?

  • looks like her!

    :)

  • Jean Enerson is going grandma soon I'm sure.

  • After all of these years Jean Enerson is still the bomb.. a GREAT news anchor!

  • OMG Jean enerson used to be beautiful (sorry, but I am kind of shocked when I see her face today).

Linda Brill... back before Evening Magazine.

    Ernst. We miss you!

  • wow, how times have changed,Thanks for the great vintage King5 newscast.

  • Check out the duds on that guy striking a pose on the sidewalk behind the Renton police sergeant at the end of the video! And I love the cop's sheepish reaction when asked what the suspicious device was: "It was a man's, uhh, electric comb."

Jean Enersen gracefully handles a camera miscue at 01:41, too.
