  • IF i already have original disc no need for pirated one LOL

  • @Cr1ptlord Sure, if you want to play the same game for the rest of your life :p (the games don't have to be the same)

  • @Th3SMS My bad, thought you need to have original disc of the same game xD

  • what da

  • swap magic, so you don't break the disk drive doing that

  • you should be slapped

  • @mArQuZ550 mmm... where you live baby? ;)

  • mod your playstation with a modchip, dumbass!!!!

the swap trick is totally useless because you can just install a modchip!

with swap trick you risk to break your ps1!

  • if you were smart you'd just get a modchip and then you wouldnt need to do this.

  • @mmichaelwwong Thanks for the compliment. When I made this video, my soldering skills weren't good enough to install a modchip, but I did it eventually.

  • try the swap trick on duke nukem total meltdown not so easy

  • Nooh, ei pidä antaa semmoisen sivuseikan haitata videon tarkoitusta!

  • Arvasin aksentista että olet suomalainen.

  • @FilyaTrevelyan Hrr sattuu sisimpään ajatella, että kuulostin joskus tältä..

  • OMG i have a site which it sells everything, even ps1 used and they're so old that price less than 50 euro!one even prices 10 eurocent!maybe the 10 eurocent one doesn't work

  • This way you destroy the console, fool..

  • @opossumITA Either say how, or shut the hell up.

  • Nice video... but why did you swap twice? it works even with one swap ;)

  • @19BeNDeR90 Really? I eventually got a modchip, but back then I never got it to work with one swap.

  • How did you make that copy of Smackdown! Know Your Role?

  • @JakeTheSnakeHarder i think he burned it

  • smack down 2 is the shiznit lol

  • @pcgamerRauno Damn where do you guys keep coming from? PSX the ps1's codename, game crackers and devs used it. + The "real psx" was never widely known or even released outside of Japan -> PSX = Playstation 1, what ever wikipedia tells you.

  • @Th3SMS ding ding we have a winner xD very well said

  • @Th3SMS I have the so called "Real PSX", the actual first Playstation 1, not the one you're using, and I live in Denmark, so It's funny that you say it never got out of japan xD

  • @PandaFilmsTV probably not. if there was any released from japan they would have been sent somewhere to test. the actual PSX was a downright fail. So, you just may have the original playstation 1. the fat gray one? yeah. that one. oh well.

  • @Sfenstermacher1 Yeah the big fat one ;)

  • @Th3SMS playstation was the 1995 model, psone was the 2000 model, psx is a digital entertainment system, really cool, but way too expensive, never released out of japan. your both right. youtube fighting doesnt get you anywere

  • @Th3SMS But there is a big difference, PSX from Japan can play PlayStation 2 games and PlayStation 1 games but PlayStation 1/PS One cannot play games from both consoles. Therefore only ignorant people call PlayStation 1 a PSX.

  • @OldSchoolFPSPCGamer You are calling every unofficial ps1 developer ignorant.

  • @Th3SMS No, I don't, do you know how to read? I call ignorant everyone who calls Playstation/PS One a PSX. PSX is a whole different console than Playstation1/PS One.

  • @OldSchoolFPSPCGamer Ugh.. Basically every ps1 emulator has "psx" in it's name: ePSXe, pSX, pcsx, AndriPSX, PSXeven, ssspsx... And if you'd say you're developing a psx demo at some demoparty (or pouet, where ever), no one would assume ps2. PSX was a term for ps1 way before the actual psx came out, it was only released in japan and didn't do very well, no reason to stop calling ps1 a psx. Please.

  • @Th3SMS It's retarded, it's like I call a BMW a Ferrari even thou those are completely different cars. I still have my box from the playstation and it says "PlayStation" near the image of it, not PSX, not SUPERCOOLMEGASHIT, JUST PlayStation. So yes, it's stupid and ignorant to call PlayStation a PSX.

  • @OldSchoolFPSPCGamer That analogy doesn't work. If BMW was officially only called Bayerische Motoren Werke, people would definitely still talk about BMWs. Then 10 years later, ferrari would create a new car mark, BMW! But only 5 "REAL" BMWs would be released, and only in japan. And now people like you would be up everyone's ass for not talking about the 5 cars when they say BMW. Silly, no?

  • @Th3SMS No, your analogy doesn't work; i you call PlayStation a PSX even thou there is a whole different console called PSX then you are ignorant and you could confuse someone. The same way I would say for example "I have a Ferrari", my friend comes to me and sees a BMW and the only argument I have is "I call it a Ferrari". See the difference? It doesn't matter that PSX was released in Japan only it's still called a PSX and that console is totally different from PlayStation.

  • @Th3SMS I won't discuss this any more, call your PlayStation a dickdrive if you want, you'll still be stupid and ignorant.

  • @OldSchoolFPSPCGamer Yay I win :3

  • @Th3SMS Yay, you're ignorant!

  • @Th3SMS *shrugs* I have a late releace PS1 that looks just like the one in the video, and it came in a box that is clearly marked PSX. I don't know why they decided to call it the PSX and not the PS1, you'd have to ask them. So I guess "all these people" are coming from buying the officially licensed Sony product that they decided to call the PSX.

  • @Disthron

yep... Sony only branded the slimline model the PSone because it was released a short time before the PS2 was due out.

They continued to brand the original 1994 Model the PSX even after the slimline came out, but began referring to both as the "PS1".

  • @Th3SMS

It was also used by Sony, until in 2000 they decided to rebrand the system as the PSone when they released the slimline, because the PS2 was coming out.

In japan however, they never called it PSX because it was mostly for the benifit of english video game magazines, so they released a "PSX" Playstation 2 in Japan.

  • how would you do this w/ games that uses multiple disks, like final fantasy vii?

  • @vphandango Well the principle is the same. Cycle disc tray censor, put a legit disc in for the check, swap it with the game disc right after. I think there is just 1 check when changing discs. There are two when booting.

  • @vphandango most of those games save before the disc swap section. Simply save, switch off the console and do the 'trick' but with disc 2, etc

  • i dont see the point of playing copied discs when you have an original disc lol

what is good is if you can simply play copied discs of games by just putting it in normally

  • @something12211 The games don't have to be the same. The legit one in the video is a demo while the game is smackdown 2..

  • @Th3SMS oh cool! didnt know that lol

  • fish and chips mate...................L0l!

  • @leyeggs im on my damn 5th try, im afraid i might brake it. i cant get the right timing dammit..

  • @BasilTzzZ Try to understand what the psx is doing. Authentity check, game data, authentity check, "ok it's valid, boot". For an authentity check the laser moves right next to the spindle hub. Watch it starting an original disc to get a better idea. If still nothing, try another game. Also are you sure you burned it right?

  • @Th3SMS Okay, will double check it. And about the burn part, i dwnld the game and mounted the .cue with deamon then burn it with nero.

  • @BasilTzzZ ...what? Get imgburn and burn using the cue file.

  • @Th3SMS Alright. i will try it dat way. Thanks

  • i did it right but it just sits there help me please

  • Comment removed

  • Whats a break ?

  • @natjeffg24 What I was trying to say back then is "slow down"

  • psx is a japanese console that plays ps1 & ps2 gamea ja. i thought coe of sony is swienehund!!! psx is fist ps comsole to have the dashboard like psp & ps3

  • @Th3SMS And how do you do for protected ones like Dino Crisis.

  • @deus5692 Umm...Use the 700 MB/80 Minute ones,i had tried them and work easily.

  • What is this trick for?

  • my psone only spin the disd qhen is closed... what should i do..?

  • @Alucardmcm near the cover button, there is a tiny bar that get's pushed down when you close the tray. Push it down with a toothpick or something.

  • @Th3SMS got it tnks ^^

  • wwe rules

  • you mean psone

  • @SuperHOTrains Works just aswell on the fat one.

  • @Th3SMS the fat one was called the Playstation, the skinny one is called the PSOne, the PSX was a console only released in Japan that saved photo's, music, videos and was a DVR. This is a PSOne, not a PSX.

  • @marleyanddalton PSX was the ps1's codename, the term stuck, the actual PSX was only released in japan with little success and isn't much known at all, as far as the internet is concerned PSX = PS1.

  • @Th3SMS actually PSX looks a more boxy like but the PS1 isn't but theres not much difference.

  • @Th3SMS I have a PSX :D

  • @marleyanddalton I always thought of PSX as meaning PS*

  • sounds veryy scratchy

  • if someone doesn't understand still heres what you do

put original ps1 game in and wait for it to speed up and then when it slows down switch it with the burned disc

then wait for the burned disc to slow down and then put the original ps1 game in

then switch with burned copy right when ps1 logo disappears

  • What does this do ? Im so confused

  • @GetR3al Lets you play burned games on an unmodified console.

  • Just burn my rom to a disc? the rom extension is .mdf and .mds btw

  • @ficarra1002 psx games aren't "roms" they're image files known as ".ccu" or ".img" or ".iso" or many other file types.

  • @deathacus When referring to game files assosiated with emulation or similar subjects, despite the file extension, they are called roms most of the time. For example, an .nds file would be referred to as a ds rom.

  • @ficarra1002 My misunderstanding, thanks for the clarification.

  • @deathacus ficarra1002 is right, ROM stands for read only memory, which a cd is.

  • That's not a PSX, that's a PS One!

  • Wow thx :D this is really easy ... hmm .. but i only have one question ... Can i close the cap ? while im playing the game

  • @cchester96 Of course you can.

  • classssiiiccc I remember my brother showing me how to do this years ago, I had so much fun ^^

  • idk but i had a modchip on ps1,and yhea the games just load nicely. But when i do the swap metod, and then it works, its like good feeling or what :D

  • I can't do it i can't do it. i just cant do it. it never works for me. FUCK

  • It's easier on the PS2. Just cover the sensors up, then swap at the browser. And you only need to swap once.

  • my friend taught me this when i was like 5 it was awesome back in the day.

  • hey , what about ntsc games? works, too?=) thanks

  • @ADELKAFROMHELL Yeah any game really. Even homebrew.

  • @Th3SMS Could you prevent regional lockout on a PSOne with this method? Like having an NTSC PSOne and using the swap method to load a PAL game?

  • @Austingarrim Yes

  • @Th3SMS it works the other way around to, swaping NTSC in a PAL console and using PAL game?

  • @Austingarrim not on psone btw, the regulare ps

  • @nameless527 I meant PSOne. I have the mini PS, which is the PSOne. they play on the PS, ik they are the same, I just specify cuz whenever I say PS ppl try to correct me to PS1 and I get pissed at them lol

  • @Austingarrim but i didnt correct u, i know the difference on ps and psone, i just asked if it works on ps as well as psone? lol, sry if i made u angry though

  • just get the ps1 (the big gray one) and buy the adapter that makes it possible WITHOUT having to stop and swap disks

  • @Mythianil That's what I had for mine, the SmartCard,

It came with loads of games' worth of cheat codes already in it & could start new games with or without cheats on.

Also, PSX magazines were printing the smart-codes in the cheats pages to keep the card updated myself.

Plus it had less chance of fucking up my whole console as the internal chips were known to back in the day (I'm talking when the original Playstation came out).

  • LOLOLOLOLOL It should be titled: How To Fuck Up Your PSX.

  • @NACHOMUZIC You should be named: Not so clever.

  • @NACHOMUZIC prick you shouldov bin called an ugly mother fucker

  • @NACHOMUZIC i just spent 15minutes tryin to do this bullshit didnt work.

  • dude what discs do you use to copy your discs onto? im using memorex and they are really laggy :(

  • @SharmanLtd Yeah the laser units on many playstations are getting old and worn, so they often have trouble reading CD-R media.. Verbatim is basically the best there is, and you could try burning at a lower speed.

  • @SharmanLtd Use CD-R discs.

  • @RetroShinigami That's right. And thank you :)

  • Right i used to do this with my games years ago and iremeber it working fine =D

so i got the urge to play some old ps1 games and got the iso's burned toa disk and heres the thing II could only get 1 game to swap...and that was crash bandicoot ?/ i burned the other ones the same but they just dont load after ive disk swapped ... i can get Crash to swap no bother thats fine but nothing eles works. i read there was patches or codes to copy some games but im lost.. any help be apritated

  • @severdnerv Did you burn the games using a .ccd .cue or some other metadata file? Burnign only the ISO won't work on most games..

  • @Th3SMS I mounted them with daemon tools and copied them that way and still only crash bandicoot wrked

  • @severdnerv What :D? I'm surprised even crash worked. Download your games from some good source, say, snesorama. Then get imgburn, select burn image to disc, and as the source file, choose .cue, .ccd or what ever tiny file came with the package.

  • The problem here in Brazil the playstation 1 was not official (as the Playstation 2 was officiated) well, besides not having the original PS1 games to sell consoles are all unlocked! For example, none of the games I bought are original ...

  • @Fabioluiz100 Yeah many people have bought playstations pre-modded, without even knowing.

  • actuolly u said ass

  • asselarate?

  • @zachary1we Haha, you said ass.

  • PSX is not a playstation one/1 in anyway or form

  • whats the point of this lol? i mean im guessing by swapping the disks. your tricking the play station into reading a pirated one while unchipped... BUT if you need both the original and pirated copies to do the trick when ever you turn off the PS1. whats the point?

  • @shuntedbywing Any legit disc will do, they don't have to be the same game; In the video I used a demo disc.

  • @shuntedbywing To save money by not buying a mod chip.

  • The psone consoles have terrible quality lasers

I stick to old grey :D

  • WWF?

  • i tried doing this and had success but after the playstation logo it just stayed at a black screen

  • wat about if i take a shit on your mum??

  • who needs the quickie mart....i......doooo

  • do i burn the images in CD's or DVD's?

  • @ginjaviniculau

    i don't think ps1 can read dvds :-/

  • hey what happens if i piss on my ps1???

  • @slentzz Well if the cover is closed, most likely nothing. If, however, the cover is open, the pee gets into the circuity and the laser unit. Depending on the amount and quality of your pee, it is likely to short something out, or blur the laser beam, resulting in a crippled functionality. This only applies if you turn on the PS right away, though. If you let it dry out, you'd need to wipe off the "pee film" off the laser for it to read discs. Depending on your pee, this might not be necessary.

  • @Th3SMS lol i see so what happens if i wank on it while the lid is open???

  • @Th3SMS true so true

  • hey what happens when you accidently look into the lens while swapping?

  • @TheSamsungslyde It's a <3mW laser beam over focusing all over your room. So unless you're sticking your eye onto the lens, stare all you want.

  • Wait, wait a sec, does both the real cd and the burnt cd have to be the same or can you just use any normal ps1 cd

  • @Koten4 Any legit disc, any burned game. If the other, this would make no sense at all..

  • Just curious. So whenever you play a burnt disc, you have to do the swap trick? Or its's a one time thing and you can play burnt games all the time after that?

  • @Xxkoolsk8ter111xX Kidding, right? Every time.

  • @Th3SMS WOW foret that then. I'll use gameshark XD

  • @Xxkoolsk8ter111xX Yeah, I ended up installing a modchip. This was just a gateway for my psx fix.

  • lmao i use to do this all the time back in the day

  • an old video, but a i have a question, can you give us a side-by-side view of you switching discs and the tv

  • @Rickythemaniac No, sorry. Just try to figure out the 2 times the laser is most centered, as that's when the disc is checked. They should be pretty close to the times I do the swaps here.

  • przez cos takiego se ps 1 zepsułem

  • @MKWARemo No eikä hajoo :D

  • this is ps1 psx is older and bigger

  • @ktosi11 This is a PSone. PSX is a special version of PS2 only released in Japan. PSX is also a term for everything ps1. (And yes, this trick works on both versions of the PlayStation 1)

  • @Th3SMS psx also refers to the emulator named after, it not just the japanese ps2.

  • @Th3SMS PSX was the original Gray block playstation, the PSOne was the little one relased after

  • @thewizard99 Yes, the codename of that console was PSX, but the final product is called the Playstation.

  • @thewizard99 looser, psx is not playstaion 1 rofl, you talk as if you know everything about it, go fetch google for differences between psx and ps1 ...

  • @kingd0d0 in a way it is its the code name for ps1

spare me the dvr ps2 bullshit

  • Why woud you do this ?

  • @ghostguy2k7 If you don't have a modchip but would like to play burned games, do this.

  • @zorrodavid5 wow really.... lol

  • whoa man, too many swaps.

  • @DisasterPiece0302 No, just the right amount.

  • ahahhahahahahhahahahahahahahhahahahah

you kid mother fucker i have brok my playstation ashole mother fucker

    fuck you kid

  • @fnikolla Because you screwed up the process. its barely this guys fault, you just are a fat cock who cant get it right and for some reason go 'ahahahaha' when your playstation breaks.

  • @dominic123212321 dont ofend me or i swear i will find you i will fuck your famyli

  • @fnikolla Alright relax mr 2pac & jesus..

Sorry for your terrible loss, but didn't it, at any moment, come to you that a swap like this puts more stress on your PS than normal usage? Just get a new cd unit since that's probably what broke. If you want to avoid possible future damage too, I suggest you install a modchip. If you can't solder well, get someone else to do the installation.

  • @fnikolla FUCK YOU. Now, How the fuck will you find my family now, Bitch?

  • @fnikolla my brother is the big pirat of the net you dont know him

  • @fnikolla lol at u spelling pirate as pirat

  • @fnikolla

yea l. you take my dad to?

  • @fnikolla Haha, You broke your PS1 lolol. Lulz.

  • @badboyazza2009 Work on every last one of the PS1s. It's either that you have to get creative with the swappind times, or you have one of the games that would need a burned swap disc to load them in.

  • Smackdown 2 was an awesome game

  • well it worked but I already bought this modchipca/store/product.php?productid=16156&cat=256&page=1

  • hmm with my ps2 slim i didnt have to double swap, and i did it the same way with this same ps and didnt get it to work. Ill try this

  • @zorrodavid5 No that would make no sense.

  • arr mabey u should just get gameshark or swap magic

  • omg what useless technique. you're damaging your ps to save your cd. n1

  • @86TacoMe Arrr, so ye be wantin' t' go to sea an' ye don't be wantin' t' end up in Davy Jones' Locker. Then ye best be learnin' t' be talkin' like a buccaneer.

  • how do you know when to change the pirated disk to orginal which you do on 0:30

  • @YouKondziu Listen to the lasers movement.
