  • Words to live by for anybody who volunteers

  • 1:20 aw the girl's voice is jodi benson! the same person who did ariel in the little mermaid :)

  • Love every lyric <3

"You're just a player in a much bigger plan. And still you have to give it all that you can."

  • Yay doing service!!

  • Good song such a big message! In a world where everyone is what is in it for me, few think how can I benefit others. To me that is the message of that song. It is the message of Christianitity. If we have not done any good in the world today and helped anyone in need then we have failed indeed.

  • One of my favorite songs :)

  • best movie ever!

  • I LOVE this song and movie. I also love the prince of Egypt my fav song is the plagues

  • Love this movie and Prince of Egypt is ma fav

  • Comment removed

  • I am SO getting this song when I get a new iPod!

  • @TheHealerIzAwesome unfortunately, Disney tries to avoid any and all religious stories and morals, but rather chooses to stick to things that won't cause any discrepancies with viewers (aka overused fairytales and fantastical ideas). But I do agree with you: their animated classics have some of the best music!

  • LOVE THIIIS!!! <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3........

  • How beautiful... Aww!

  • this means war.

  • I remember when I was very young, after having seen Prince of Egypt, I thought that all of the Egyptians were bad guys. I was confused at first when I saw this movie.

  • @catholicgamer99 So did I, but infact the egyptians were very nice ad humble people. In Prince of Egypt, God hardened Pharaohs heart, and Pharaohs thought they were like children of the gods. So when he Ramesses said no, no Egyptian dared cross him or fallow moses. So they all seemed evil. Love these movies.

  • @KryptonianRoamer Yeah, I got confused when I read the Bible and it said, "But I will make Pharoah obstinate...". I was like, "So God intentionally made him stuborn?" Actually, it still confuses me to this day.

  • @catholicgamer99 Same. But God did it for a good reason. Pharaoh was a "Player in a much bigger plan".

  • @KryptonianRoamer I'm trying to figure out what that plan is. Was it to show the world God's wonders and make the Israelites believe in God again?

God works in very mysterious ways.

  • @catholicgamer99 I wonder that too. I know He's God and it's not my place to question but I can't help wondering if there could've been a better way than ultimately taking the lives of all those innocent children who had done nothing. I hate the idea of punishing the child for the sins of the parent. I believe that punishment should be placed upon those who deserve it not the innocent bystanders.

  • @Chibikan Me too, whenever I read about God's punishment toward evil people in the Old Testament, I feel uncomfortable because their family members often share the punishment. I always think, "Is this really necessary?"

The Old Testament, in general, makeas me wonder, "What is the message behind this? (Other than obeying God, of course)."

See, that's the odd thing about the Bible. The New Testament portrays God very differentlly from the Old Testament.

  • @catholicgamer99 Makes me wonder if the translation we have is as infallible as people think. I don't think any god would really do such things. So many people have used the Bible as an excuse to be do horrible things (Holocaust, the destruction of the Aztecs and Incans) and I think it's just that, an excuse. How many things in the Bible were simply improvised by the religious and political leaders in order to give them more power over the people, I wonder.

  • @Chibikan

I 100% agree, and that is actually why I am opposed to theocracy. Leaders in a theocracy are just as vulnerable to corruption as leaders in any other government, and it gives them the opportunity to abuse religion. By changing the word of God, these theocratic leaders can not only justify their own horrible deeds, but also mislead (and even brainwash) innocent religious civilians. The Holy Crusades are a great example of this.

  • what their singing about does have a meaning toit. you do give more and leave more. and thats what makes a human being.

  • he's hot

  • one day, I hope that all people who haven't found love's god love yet, finds him, and puts their love, trust and faith in him; the maker of the universe, Our God & Jesus Christ <3

  • Cartoon Disney movies ALWAYS have the best songs.

  • @TheHealerIzAwesome but this is dreamworks not disney

  • @TheHealerIzAwesome I'm sorry but this isn't Disney.

  • My fave song from the movie! So inspirational :)

  • Why all the arguing? Is that the purpose of this video? I thought the purpose was to 1. enjoy the song by listening to it, or 2. sing-a-long with it.

  • Can people stop arguing over religion for once? It's clearly a hot topic for many. What good will stirring up animosity do? This is a beautiful song and movie. Period. Enjoy it.

  • This is definitely going in my favorites! I mean, David and Jodi have the greatest voices ever! They sound SO great together! Kudos to both for the great job they did!

  • This is a beautiful song....just wish arrogance wasn't such a strong exercise when it comes to some people. COME ON man, its just a video! And even though the movie is based on its own beliefs does not mean it promotes something opposing to yours! Were all brothers and sisters no matter what faith or ideology.

  • where can I find this soundtrack?

  • I just love the songs from this movie!!!!!!!!

  • Childhood :')

  • they said prideful! it's proud!

  • I made the lyrics for a possible Filipino version (I don't think there is yet so I made) so if anyone who is brave enough to make a video for it, message me. I would be more than happy to give you the lyrics. (I don't know how youtube and videos go so I don't make any videos).

  • You've got to give a little more than you take <3

  • This guy's voice is amazing :)

  • does anyone know who sang this song?

  • @KLouthan1 David Campbell and Jodi Benson. imdb.com/title/tt0264734/soundtrack

  • I love this song and i love the movie of course

  • Such an inspiring film and song -

You''ve got to give a little more than you take,

you've got to leave a little more than was here (8)

  • Best Dreamworks song ever!! It stinks to watch this and then watch shrek made like 5 years later. What has happened to our country? God bless America!

  • the swedish version is soooooo much better ! he got a really beautiful voice in that version ! :))

  • @annabaanan You're right!

  • @jmilco haha , I told you so ;P

  • lmao i can just imagine holding a bit of grain in my hand and dropping it into the wells and saying. "hah i helped lmao"

  • If you slide your hand across the surface of a pile of seeds - they're gonna strip your nails off, literally!

  • @TheStarcraftJACKAL Yeah but if they do it often enough from a younge age your skin around your nails builds a resistance, i know mine have and i work and live on a farm doing things like that (less god-ishly though)

  • @LauraahFTW Thanks for the information, could've been better if my cousin knew this a couple of days earlier. :)

  • @TheStarcraftJACKAL, I always assumed that was dirt he was running his hand over in the first piece of this song.

  • he's got such a lovely face

  • Now if only they had this song's attitude with the aboriginals. *sigh*

  • I really, really like this song--don't get me wrong at all--I've been listening to it over and over b/c I like it a lot, but I've started to notice (and it's started to bug me) that the lady singing is singing about Joseph--which is fair, I suppose, since the movie is about him--but it seems kind of, a little bit (*clears throat*) patronizing. Or maybe I'm just being overly sensitive about the issue.

  • make samson and delilah ... please!

  • i watched this is in religion class last week and i absolutely loved it :)

  • Those are the best animated cows evar!

  • I think the people in Congress should listen to this song,

  • DreamWorks need to make another Bible Story movie!!!!!! :D

  • @Ecofreak96 : What about David and goliath?

  • @dmr868

Maybe not just that story, but the story of David :D

    That one's a little short :P

  • @dmr868 But hasn't that been done before? I've watched the animation, although I don't think it was done by Dreamworks.

  • @dmr868 It would be kind of hard to put bloody, gory battle scenes in a film for younger audiences.

  • i love ds movie wtchd it like 100 tyms,

god is good [all the tym]

all the tym [god is good]

  • Not as good as the Prince of Egypt, in my eyes. Which is a shame.

  • @BlatentlyBooshified Nope, not as good...better!

  • @TheEacusM Whaaaaa?! Well, opinions must differ to make the world interesting, I suppose. (;

  • I'm not a christain, I am an anamist and I still love this song and it's meeting. I think that it is very good to show people how to act and think.

  • thumbs up comon people 12 dislikes u must be so sad

  • cool

  • Who does this song and what is it called?

  • @69in89 the guy is David Campbell but I don't know the woman. It is called More Than You Take

  • @TheWolfmaid Jodi Benson

  • I am an atheist and still love these movies, Prince of Egypt as well. you dont have to believe in it to enjoy a good story, and beautiful animation

  • @TheDoucheFairy i like this comment so much, so hard to find respectful athiest commentators on YT :)

  • @TheDoucheFairy That's the best part about these movies. Shame they didn't make more. They had a way to make a biblical movie, yet make it enjoyable for both Religious and Non Religious people.

  • @TheDoucheFairy Exactly, I have both on VHS, had them for over a decade and Im an atheist :) still enjoy em.

  • @TheDoucheFairy Anyhow. It gets really annoying when people get into religious debates just because what they're watching is religious-themed. Everyone has different beliefs and it's wrong for someone to try and shove theirs down someone else's throat.

  • @KoraBloom agreed and if i came across as trying to bring up a religious debate... i apologise. :)

  • @KoraBloom Question. Isn't you saying "Everyone has different beliefs and it's wrong for someone to try and shove theirs down someone else's throat." You trying to shove the belief that such a thing is wrong down our throats, and so by your own statement is wrong to do?

  • @NerdExtrodinare

Your logic fails thinking that way would invalidate ANY argument

  • @YoruAzenia1 On the contrary. If it is claimed that forcing any belief down the throats of others is wrong, that by it's own action would be wrong for it is demanding that you accept that belief no matter if you believe to the contrary, therefore it is wrong by it's own definition.

  • @TheDoucheFairy Good people finding each other.

  • @TheDoucheFairy yeah its like enjoying a fairy tale

  • @TheDoucheFairy the story is real and it is an examle for a life commited to God!

  • @myGodmyFriend Their point was that even though they don't believe in God, which is their choice, they love the story. They never said the story had to be false.

  • @TheDoucheFairy hello my friend I am a muslim and I am an Egyptian thanks for your nice words , and you dont have to say that your an athiest your a HUMAN it doent matter whts your religion just be a good person in life , take care love from EGYPT

  • @TheDoucheFairy I believe I was the 100th like of this comment.

But, I don't believe in God, but I am like you and do enjoy a good story. c: I loved these movies

  • is it me or does that guy have a face at 1:57 lol

  • 12 people had their computer on mute :)

  • this song makes me stronger...:)

  • I like that the guy on the left at 2.18-1.20 has like an endless bag xD

  • @Oasen96

haha! omg. i just noticed. that is sooo funny :)

  • @Oasen96 he's the reason they had plenty of food when needed! xD

  • How is salt water going to grow crops?

  • @taybo1993 The Nile River isn't salt water, it's fresh water and all of Egypt relied on it for survival.

  • "the measure of your soul is at stake..."

so basically: work hard and do good, or God is sending your ass to Hell.

  • @LordManda2 I am sorry but if working hard and doing good were enough then Jesus would not have had to die to save us. Jesus' sacrifice points us to salvation all we have to do is accept Him in our hearts and admit that we have come short of His standards for holiness.

  • @wrestelingfan100 Im sry but "all we have to do is accept him and admit we have come short of his standards"? So... someone can be lazy and mistreat everyone around him, but as long as he "accepts Jesus", hes got a guarenteed ticket through the pearly gates? >_>

  • @LordManda2 Accepting Christ as our savior is only the first step. God put us here for a reason and it is not to mistreat people. He lets us know how we are to treat others through His word. He lets us know how He expects us to live through His word. But in answer to your question look at the thief on the cross next to Jesus. There is know telling what crimes this man committed to have gotten him there. But in the end God still forgave him. But there was a consequence for his sin.

  • I love This Movie (:

  • I dind't know this version until now. The Portuguese version is also really beautiful (Dar Mais - Give More) and it's sang in the Scouts and the church :-)

  • The only bad part about the video are the rapid black bar flashes on the side of the screen.

Other than that, this is the best Disney song I've ever heard! Too bad there aren't any more Christian Disney writers.

  • @assasinof6 This movie is Dreamworks. :) I used to have this and the Prince of Egypt on the same video and I remember it not being Disney, I watched it that much. :D

  • @assasinof6 ~Its not Disney... Its Dreamworks...

  • you're just a player in a much bigger plan and still you have to give it all that you can the very measure of your soul is at stake you've got to give a little more than you take (2) the seasons fly a man stands where a boy once stood his path unfolds and unafraid he walks in service of a greater good (refarain) deeper and deeper the lessons he has known over and over the message he is surely being shown (repeat chorus)
  • (1) A single voice is joined by multitudes in song With every verse they're finding harmonies that rise to heaven sure and strong (refrain) richer and richer the soil on which they thrive higher and higher a hymn of what it means to be alive (chorus) you've got to give a little more than you take you've got to leave a little more than was here you may be prideful of the strides you will make but keep one thing clear, (to be continued)
  • iI LOOOVE JODI BENSON!! ( or for u people that dont know names ariel from the little mermaid) this is my fav song! i wish i could get it on cd or ipod :(

  • @aquathenna Go to video2mp3 on google, it's what I use to get the songs I like but can't find on Itunes/other download sites. Works really good IMO

  • Guuuuuys. I get some of you are religious, some of you are not. Can't we agree to disagree? I'm not saying were i stand in this argument but people. Chill out, enjoy the song, and keep your personal and religious beliefs to yourself. Don't shove it down peoples throats. Lets be friends. x

  • yeah kinda rude song, your just a pawn in a bigger game but got to give it all anyway? Hell no! I refuse to be used and Il kick ass in the end and show everyone you can make it without following rules!

  • @SailorIda3 it's not saying that you should give up all you have for nothing and just let the others win with YOUR prize.. it's saying, in this life you take out of it, what you put into it. If you give more good things and put other first and not be selfish, then most of the time you will get wonderful things back. I said 'most of the time' b/c it's all how you look at it.

  • @abbyfanduby never happend to me thought, oh well

  • @SailorIda3 hmm you should get out more, then. Enjoy life.

  • you've got to give a little more than you take :)

  • this has to be one of my favorite songs <3 i love both this movie and prince of egypt, two of dreamworks' best movies ^_^

  • I actually really like this biblish inspired movies

  • Joseph the Vizier

  • How come in movies, After a baby is born the baby fat just melts away. But in real life it stays?

  • @TheVaporeonrules234 because the movies assume that you don't eat more than what your body needs.

  • @zilox50 Well anyway i'm jealous.

  • Mannaseh and Ephraim are so cute as little kids.

  • this movie was so good it should even have a dislike button

  • So does anyone know where to find sheet music for this song?

  • All Things Are Possible... In The Name Of God... JesusChrist... Our Lord God And Saviour!!!

  • I love this song! i love this movie! its amazing! joseph worked so hard, he did so well! i think is a shame pharaoh did that :( BUT I LOVE THIS MOVIE! :D and i like prince of egypt to!

  • i think this movie is awesome better that prince of egypt but their both awesome

  • Great song :)

  • @WoW1323Zeedawg

I know, some people can be total idiots and I've said that a billion times. But why do parents love their children? They do bad things, and get into trouble.

Some parents don't care, but my parents are were christian and they didn't throw me out the door just because I did something bad.

We have a purpose, we're not worthless. Even you have a purpose, you might not reconize it though.

For the idiots, they're path is covered in snow and they're lost without it.

  • I love how the Pharaoh in this one is actually a good guy. lol there is a big character change between the pharaoh in King of Dreams and Prince of Egypt.

  • @righteous0warrior well think of it POE takes place generations after JKOD so new phaohs diff ideas

  • @righteous0warrior there is a HUGE character change!

  • YAY, I found honey in my stash! Like for me?

Give a little more love, Either you can be a person with love and faith in the good, or a believer of the "Truth" and hate, or something in between, and when there is an argument there is always at least one that goes on the offensive, makes it impossible for that person to show lo~~ve...! Love isn't always hugs and kisses. but also that you give a little more than you take! XD

  • THERE SHOULD be more views then this thumbs up if you agree

  • This song is catchy i can't stop listening to it and singing it

  • This song is caughty

  • Beautiful

  • I love everything!!! God led me to feel the message of this song and so I shall...Enough with the criticisms

  • I have never heard of this movie, But I bet The Prince Of Egypt was better.

  • @iluvyou123100 Oh I always liked this one just as much as prince of Egypt.

  • I can't believe I bought this movie just because of David Campbell.

  • I love the video. Just like the movie. But with the words, which is even great! Great job!

  • yeah Prince of Egypt was better, because there was more selection of music.

  • @TehAuroraWolf yeah but Jodi Benson is in this one! lol nah jk. I have never been able to decide which one I like better.

  • This video is beautiful, In every single aspect

  • i love how in the movie they show that just becouse joseph beleaved in god and that he had gift didnt mean that he was going to have an easy life. Lots of people think that God dosnt exsist becouse their life dosnt go all milk and honey Joseph had to be knocked down and given a reality check befor he got somewhere.

  • People... Christianity is not a religion.. its a relationship with God. and I dont doubt any of that. its true and soemthing I can prove. God ahs done SO much for me, and before the time ends, you want to trust Him too. Im not forcing, just encouraging.

  • @xFuschiaCherry I admire you for posting that comment. I don't like it when people call Christianity a religion. It is a relationship and the most important relationship a person can have. I'm so thankful that God loves us so much to give up His only Son for us. If that's not love, then I don't have a clue what is.

  • @Rogue10792 haha ;] i know, right?

  • @xFuschiaCherry woohoo at last someone who has not been brainwashed into thinking like the rest of them.

  • @blackassassin2k7 haha ;]

  • @xFuschiaCherry sorry but all cults are religions.

  • @xFuschiaCherry

    It is a religion.

  • God is so amazing...

  • im just spitballing here, but would his water tunnels hold up very long? i mean isn't water lazy, and it makes oxbows or something so wouldn't it just cut through the grain or flood?? im no expert, and i know its a movie, plus it's animated..but realisticly wouldn't that happen??

  • @cskittles12 I'm guessing they're reinforced somehow. that's based loosely on how the farmers along the Nile used to water their crops using irrigation channels leading to the river - the Nile would flood yearly and fill the channels, soaking into the crops. I don't know the technicalities - but it is and animation xD. I don't think they were worried about the science.

  • @WoW1323Zeedawg God loves but he hate sins (which are the one's u mention except sex) hope this help in ur Christianism please respond if u are a christian willing to die for jesus :)

  • I love the bible stories :D

  • @WoW1323Zeedawg

He's like an artist. You know that when you made a great piece of work, it's hard to get rid of it? I think this is that case and that he wants us back, like a father would.

That's why it's called "Unconditional Love".

  • @WoW1323Zeedawg God is our father and just like an earthly father he loves us unconditionly... God is Love but in order to recieve that love u must know him and forgive yourself and others for past mistakes

  • What is this movie about? Is it good?

  • are god are savior is the best and you guy he's right Guys please stop arguing about religion isn't one of the Lords messages to us is Love everyone even if they don't believe just try to make everyone you meet lives better like the Lord wants you to
