Just accidentally ran across your vids...normally, I dont steal anything from anyone...but I must admit it...Im in the process of stealing some of your "grooves and riffs"...Love your style~ you play really tight and youre one of the few drummers that knows how to "let it breathe" and what dynamics are and how to utilize it for the best effect. Thanks for posting dude...
AHA! You cut down cymbals to just like I did. Gavin being my favorite drummer I always admired his bells so my dad and I cut out the bells from all our 20 or more broken cymbals. Its great to see someone else do it.
thanks man, aside from a high-pass filter there's nothing changed about the hihats. Some engineers will boost overheads and hats at around 10khz to get more sparkly sound, but I was happy with them without any modifications.
alright cool, thanks. yeah, i wanted a brighter pair of high hats but, still dark aside from my K Custom High Definitions and yours sound great to me.
great sound!! its just what im looking for but how do you get the drum channels separated when recording in pro tools m powered if your mixer is not m audio?..and do you get every drum by itself so you can eq each one different?
To whoever posted below saying it was boring, being a drummer myself I only have one thing to say: the beauty is in the simplicity. Open space in the playing is amazingly effective. Great playing!
i agree, it's boring for me to watch as well...i've progressed a lot since i did this (almost a year ago), I feel like my playing is more exciting to watch, and my improvisation and groove has certainly come a long way in my opinion. Watch soon for some new videos :)
Your little chimes are amazing and what you did with em at 0:40 was just crazy! I love your drumming, and you've got some inspiration from Gavin right?
Hey man u rock i mean u have a structure like 1 or 2 beats in the solo then u do sum fills here and there then go back into the beat and then u play quite then loud this s everything a solo should be keep it up im well impressed
And at about 3:50 you start to play something that sounds like the song Stop Swimming by PT. I love that song, I play it on drums too, it's so relaxing :P
Well ok, Jeff Porcaro's shuffle is built by ideas from the "Purdie Shuffle" .. I haven't heard the purdie shuffle in much details but it might be the purdie shuffle Chris is playing here. You're right ^^
hi. great playing and great sound.. i would like to get into this recording, so your mics are hooked up to the mackie 16 chan mixer??? and do you need pro-tools soft wear i have a line 6 recorder and a fostex mr-8HD. and do i need the m-audio firewire & profire i would like to no what my options are pleaz reply thnkx
U should fill out a form to zildjian asking them for a sponsorship. im sure theyd at least give u a level b or c. ask sonor too. who knows, u might get some free stuff.
ok firstly, two years. What the hell. I've been playing for 12 year and you and I would make a great solo together. Secondly, best mixing and mike job EVER. Kit sounds fantastic.
Very mature playing for only two years. Sounds excellent man. Your bass and snare tone are near perfect. If you wouldn't mind, how do you set your kick up? PS 3, head tension, any pillows, or muffling of the front head, ect.
very nice man!.. you're really good.. if i havent have read your page i would have though you have been drumming since you were born haha! and i dont say that to everyone!! :P
well, I dont say this much but...your pretty good and as a drummer it's really nice to see another drummer doing something other than go-as-fast-as-you-possibly-can-and-mash-everything. nice job bro.
Hey man you play the drums very nice!!!!!, dude just one question, Can you tell me what's your configuration on your recording equipment? I mean wire diagram or something else.
Is that a splash stacked on your left crash? I used to do that, but one day something strange happend when I hit it, the splash split in half, and one of the fragments hit me in my shoulder, got a scar. Though I guess that was a 1/1000000 time thing, so.. rofl. :P
Hey man great video. I watch all of these all of the time. If you ever need a drum-tech for touring, you know who to... Well I guess message or contact in some form. Haha. Keep it up man.
This is awesome. Your drums, cymbals and, of course, playing sound fantastic. I've probably mentioned this before but you have a similar feel to Gavin Harrison. I love these compilation videos, too. I've a handful of them as well and it'd be cool if you checked them out.
I think you're a Gavin Harrison's great fan xD the way you play and the set up...
