I never attended UGA but a couple of years after I graduated from Arizona, I moved to Atlanta. That's where my professional life really began, and I heard the Dawg games on WSB Radio. Then I started looking this Larry Munson up, who is this old guy and his weird way of announcing, it's kind of cool, and I realized why he is so beloved in the South and across the country.

Larry Munson made college football FUN to listen to. He showed us what it's like to be a true FAN.

Thanks Larry and RIP.

R.I.P. Larry Munson the greatest Dawg to ever live and forever the voice of the Dawgs. Forever in our hearts and in our ears with the greatest calls ever made by ANY broadcaster in ANY sport. The Bulldog Nation, College Football, and sports fans have lost the best that ever was or will be. GO DAWGS!

I once turned the sound down on a Georgia game and listened to this guy, and my wife said, "Is that even the same game?" Musnson was not an announcer, he was a dramatist, and a bad one at that.

RIP Larry Munson. Broadcasting legend throughout the South, even if you were not a UGA fan you respected his work. Pretty much any college football fan knows his famous lines.
