  • Solid content, Terri! Direct, informative and no-fluff. Just picked up your book on Amazon. Thank you for being a resource for talent.

  • Very nice mic! That's def a Neumann 2:49 :) Thanks for the great informative video.

  • She looks of Asian or Native American Indian descent

  • Were can I audition? I have my own Pro Tools 9 based studio and I've worked at a professional recording studio here (Asthmaattack studios) in Colorado Springs were I live. I've coached people doing voice overs who are in the industry along with many skits for music. I just need a foot in the door. Thanks.

  • thank you .. been looking for tips for years ..

  • How can I get a voice acting teacher?

  • Very informative video and you're right about self coaching and the difficuties in having an third person critique my work before submitting it back to my agent.

  • 2:50 thats not how you put a mic in a shock mount....

  • @leahrh618 You sure it's not a special type of mount?

  • This Terri chick is totally hamming it up in the interview. It's clear she is a "manager" and not VO talent. Whatta weirdo.

  • I REALLY want to do voice over work, but I don't know of opportunities in my area. The local TV channels use the anchors.

  • Gave me a lot to consider that I didn't think about before....so glad I found this before getting started on making my demo! Thank you!

  • My question is, "Who would you recommend me to go to near the Dallas / Ft. Worth area to learn how to do voices for animation?" I live in Allen, which is north of Dallas.

  • I can't wait until I become a voice actor. I'm already a good voice actor now and have a good voice and can do good impresssions, but the only thing I lack is breath support and breathing. I'm still getting that down. Although, I can't wait until I get Professional Coaching! :D

  • Please watch my voice overs for a smile! I am trying to break into voice acting! Thank you!

  • I want to be a voiceover speaker, my Demo i will post on here , any tips???

  • I'm regularly asked if I do voiceovers or radio work. Nope. Should I?

  • Train me train me I want to be a voice actress XD ahhh I think it's so fun to just speak in fun ways like evil, excited, sad, agitated, & random accents

  • i think i have specific voice i can sound a bit evil and good at the same time... so maybe i should upload some videos on youtube

  • This is the only video I've seen (so far) on voice over that is honest, informative, positive, and encoraging all at the same time. MOST of the videos some discouraging lecture about "it's too hard and you'll never make it". Nice to see someone who is confident enough to share the truth without feeling the need to scare away future competition.

  • @totallyfrozen I completely agree! :)

  • When she moved her fingers around at 2:32 that was the best part of the video...

  • Always looking for a fresh voice! good news!

  • i so wanna be a voice actress

  • Realtors, Actors, Voice Over Artists, Singers..... coaching?? Everyone who is not making any money in their own field is 'coaching' everyone else in order to pick your pockets, LOL!!!! Thanks OBama!

  • OMG!! I want YOU to train me Terri Apple!!! You're AMAZING!!!! LOL

  • why dont you creat your fist up your ass? will that work.

  • @shweetguy lol funny

  • If you're an actor, you're an actor. If not...well, riiight!

  • Dear voice over teacher:

What you said is correct. I'm new to voice over acting. In other professions, I've had use scripts. Sometimes, it's how you say things. We as professionals do have to put our personal life aside to serve the client.

    Take care,

    successtrain

  • :( all i want to know is how they do something with their voice. i can change pitches, tones, emotions and accentts. All I really want to know is how to do tricks with my voice and how to do a charecter laugh there are 500 of these vids all same things please get to the real tips for us who just want to lean to change and mess with our voices for profession or just any use

  • This is called "preparing" and "getting into the character" as you've probably heard professional actors talk about. Most go off into isolation and literally psyche themselves up and prepare the character they're doing. Running their lines, talking to themselves in a mirror, whatever it takes. As for your location? Start with local voice talent agencies to see if you have the chops for commercials before VO acting for anime. They are two different animals and you should take baby steps..

  • sometimes i have these day's where i want to (or have too) do some voice over lines for Anime Fandubs and yet im not in "the Groove" i need some help with THIS because if i ever do become a Voice Actor for Anime, there's a BIG chance i'll be called to do those lines and i mite not have the Groove on that day, what do i do? also i want to voice act in a company that's in Texas when i live in England, that's a bit problematic in itself :(

  • thank you so much for being open and honest and speaking my language

  • Awesom really good tips i will put that to the test.

  • i have interest in this

  • Terri, run away with me!

  • Very useful and informative.

  • this video is great. very good information.

  • Much appreciation for uploading this video! I learned a few new (and insanely useful) things.
