I jailbroke with blackra1n but then the Cydia stuffed up & I couldn't download SSH on it & it wouldn't load so I used Spirit to jailbreak & it worked back again ! Hope I helped & reply to me if this worked for u ! :D

This works temporarily but every time I open Cydia it does all its typical updating and crap and then the next time I attempt to open it the problem is back. It's a never ending cycle. How do you suppose I fix that? Do you know of a way to delete Cydia altogether? I have tried many things that are supposed to work but none do.

@fofilovecape Thanks for replying. I restored my phone (3g) in itunes to 3.1.2, rejailbroke with blackra1n, unlocked with snow, and the reinstalled cydia through blackra1n. Cydia installed fine. But the first time I opened cydia it did its updates and then went to the "reloading data" page. It's once again stuck on that. It says reloading data for about 20 seconds and then crashes back to the springboard again. Now I can't install afc2add or anything that will allow me to ssh into the phone.

@BKzG00nie23 if you don't wanna lose all of your sources then try to keep the ones that you REALLY TRULY need and try to open your cydia and see if sth goes wrong ... and also updating to ios4 doen't mean you have to lose your photos if you use the following paths First, download iTunes 9.2.

Second, BACKUP your device in iTunes!

Third, Download the right iOS4 Firmware for your device. I recommend using firefox to download it since it downloads .ipsw files correctly and does not split it up.

1. Install ScreenSplitr via Cydia

2. Start ScreenSplitr

3. Connect an AV cable (I only tried Component so far)

4. The app will return to the Springboard and ScreenSplitr icon should have a “On” badge.

5. The TV should show what’s on your iPhone.

@dustin2130 there are 3 ways that I know of to get it back

The easiest is through ifile (available from Cydia). With ifile you dont need a computer to manage the iPhone file system.

SSH is another option, just recreate the partial directory.

iPhone Browser will also worksimilar to SSH but through USB instead if WiFi.
