  • thanks for the reply.

what I mean is...do you notice and sonic differences, regarding clarity and airiness in the timbres?

I've got a tube condenser...and I'm thinking maybe this mic is great for rock aggressive vocals but may lack something when it comes to softer passages?

Have you had a chance to try condensers or tube condensers?

  • @novanine9 Dynamics are good for gritty styled vocals, condensers usually have a smoother sound that give more clarity.

This mic is very clean when flatlined, but with the bass roll off and boost in high mids you can give it a more personal shape.

Look at the frequency responses, if you have that specific range where it peaks then it'll respond better to your voice.

  • what is the major difference between this and the regular tube condenser vocal mic, like the Avantone cv-12?

    Thanks

  • @novanine9 This is a dynamic mic, which means you don't need phantom power to be able to use it.

Condenser mics DO need phantom power to charge the capacitor inside them.

Google is your friend in these cases instead of asking people on YT.

  • what pre amp your using with it

  • @rore010 At the moment I was going through just the pre in a Line 6 UX2 and Podfarm. I bought a small ART external pre to help with levels afterward.
