  • "Here you go son. This tin means you will never get a traffic ticket in Canada again. It will entitle you to all kinds of things I can't mention in public...."

  • one day.

  • 3 people are criminals

  • @ThePOKOkitty the USA is in a huge economic collapse because they are imbred morons and can't run a country. But Canada is fine compared to the US. We went from our dollar being worth .50 cents of an American dollar to now being worth .06 cents more then the American dollar. The united states is pathetic and is laughed at even by Mexico. Yet you have the nerve and idiocity to try and insult Canada? You probably don't even have a job you worthless american.

  • Wow this is our top elite police force and their doing the cerimony in a gym...

  • @killemboyz Its not just any gym, it's one of the many training gyms located at the RCMP training grounds in Regina, SK. It's a completely different type of gym as well, notice the decorations and how there are not any basketball nets, etc.

  • a nice fancy hat. just as canada itself is america's nice fancy hat.

  • The drill does look a bit unusual.

I assume this is because they were a mounted unit and cavalry would not do boot crashing foot soldiers drill?

  • Looks like a Monty Python skit. (Silly walks.)

  • Sooie Sooie!!!! time to fed the pigs!

  • hh

  • @polarissucks ONE incident???? wow, are you really that brainwashed??

because we dont need brainwashed nut jobs in the RCMP, it has enough problems

PLAGUED with problems, why are so many retired members saying RCMP has become a national disgrace?

pull your head out of the sand

  • @success11111 ... that " laughable ceremony" is held in Regina and they are all dedicated to Protect and Serve. Main dedication is to protect society from your mother's ass and prevent it shit out scums like you. You may not like what you see here but if you are unable to show respect then do not call cops when you need one. RCMP is one of many dedicated organizations who would do anything to serve and protect the society.

  • good job getting you badge mate, hope to join ya

  • @002RC Licence to Tazer, beat and kill,

  • Look how junky Canada is....

Where is that laughable ceremony being held? A rec center? Lol at Canada.

  • @success11111

You're an idiot. But then you knew that already.

  • @success11111 It's at the RCMP Depot division. Where every RCMP cadet in the country trains. Considering the history and significance of Depot to the cadets, they wouldn't have it any other way. Especially when their families (whom they haven't seen in awhile) fly out to see the ceremony and actually see Depot.

  • @success11111

Its tradition, almost all RCMP cadets have gotten their badges in the exact same place since way back in the 1800s when the the organization was still the North West Mounted Police. That's like asking why does the US army use WWI heavy artillery for 21 gun salutes rather then M119 Howitzers.

    Tradition

  • Thats how it's done!

  • one day...

  • @taze48 did you make it?

  • As a fellow L.E.O. I remember the day I recieved my badge, While it may be a symbol of authority, when refered to as a shield it reminds me of the duty and commitment L.E.O.'s assume to protect the public.

  • dam they are so organized

  • I could imagine the Honor it must be to go through all that training and then this final moment when you are handed your badge =)

  • An american officer I have the utmost respect for my brothers and sisters of the RCMP. Ive never worked with them, beside them in anyway but I have had the honor of meeting several over the years. They are loyal honest hard workers who do a terrific job.

  • im proud of all the rcmp ! im gonna be one, im already on my way.

  • I will be waiting impatiently to get in....I am so proud of the R.C.M.P.!!

  • Mounties get badges, eh? And here I thought the hat was the symbol of authority.

  • looks like a skit from Monty Python....ps, did I hear one of the rookies ask...."when do we get to taser innocent people?".

  • @TheHickupp

Yeah Taser innocent people.... from my recollection Dziekanski ws wilfully damaging property valued over $5000 and causing a disturbace in a protected area. Two Criminal Code offences committed right there.

  • Best of luck. Keep up the great spirit and tradition of the RCMP - and don't step over the line like so many mounties are embroiled in these days.

  • @fnulnuable: "by employment"? Only that the life (and death) of so many people depend on their job puts even more pressure on police and law enforcement personnel to NOT TO STEP OVER THE LINE.

Its not like they're flipping burgers and they forgot to toss in the mayo in your burger.

  • Please see my language correction for clarity.

  • When I say significantly better I mean there are less instances of Members stepping over the line. As in, Police Officers break the law LESS than the population segments described above. Trust me, I am Pro-Police. I am one.

  • (I have to correct my language for clarity). Police Officers are LESS likely to break the law than any other population segment (based only on Canadian Statistics). When groups are created based on race, religion, employment, or age (I do not recall the other categories), Police Officers are LESS likely to commit crimes / indiscretions than any of the groups.

When a Police Officer does cross the line, the media likes to slam the Police in general and make the public think poorly of us.

  • "When a Police Officer does cross the line, the media likes to slam the Police in general and make the public think poorly of us."

I agree - the entire Police force or the profession should not be condemned for the mistakes of the few fools who somehow manage to seep through the rigorous testing and training.

Good luck fnulnuable - because of my profession I've interacted with a lot of mounties over the past 10 years, and have a lot of respect for them - except for the ones I mentioned.

  • This video has really made me think about what it would be like to make it to that day and how proud I am of the RCMP. If I make it to, and then through, Depot....That would be a dream come true.

  • @jsperess

Its an amazing experience. The best job in the world.

  • danm imagine how imotional that day should be for a former..Rcmp agent

  • I'm and american and I for one respect my neighbors to the north

  • @Bert9327

Thanks Brother. I have been down to a number of Police Funerals in Washington State and the amount of appreciation shown by American Police Agencies and the General Public was astounding.

  • @Bert9327 thanks we appreciate being appreciated... eh :P

  • where can i get a mounty suit it looks cool :)

  • @egdqv13234

I got mine in Regina. Took about 6 months of back breaking work to earn it, however, it was worth the broken finger and bruises and sleepless nights.

  • and you must just be another american

  • soldier? muther fucker who the fuck you think is fighting the Taliban in Southern Afghanistan Get educated you dumb mother fucker ...ever heard of JTF2? stupid bitch shut you're ass up . You'll never even have the guts to enlist. And I can tell your a fuckin ignorant dumb cunt for the simple fact that if you were in the US military, you would actually realize that you guys actually train primairly with the Canadians and British Troops.

This said don't even bother writing back

  • Hold on You're a dumb bitch and you're illeterate?

stop writing you comebacks plainly suck use google next time American Boy

  • atta boy

  • @thebestoneil

Way to go brother. Work hard.

  • the only pig here is you

  • when you need the assistance of the RCMP because you were robbed, dry

  • How dare you people make fun of the Royal Canadian Mounted police. There was one inncident where the RCMP made mistakes, now whenever something happens, the media is so happy to report and people are even happier to jump to conclusions even before people get any details. They love to scream how horrible the police are because they made a few mistakes. Shame on you people. They are a great service, and i'm proud to have them as my police force. I cant wait to join them next year!

  • @polarissucks Hey did you get in!?!?!

  • @polarissucks No problem, the standards are so low they take anybody.

  • @polarissucks good luck with getting through all the ridiculous recruiting requirements. Even with all their safeguards, too many morons become mounties.

  • Im ashamed of Canadians and how they treat their RCMP on Youtube. These man are committing their lives to help others, after they recieve their badge they'll be relocated anywhere in Canada where they start a new life as an RCMP, leaving everything behind - to help others. and Im ashamed that people are so quick to disregard this, calling them "thugs" and "bullies".

Yet when help is needed, they'll call on the RCMP. Because they KNOW, these are men who will risk their lives to save you.

  • Thank You!! The role of RCMP is not go out in the public and strike fear in people or make friends with the public its to protect them thats the main objective

  • The Police are the Sheep Dog protecting the Sheep from the Wolf. Now the Sheep Dog has to have a little Wolf inside him in order to protect the Sheep.

  • I wonder if they are carrying their pistols on this occasion.. commissioned officers being around and all

  • screw you, ass. wait till youre being assaulted and need a cop. especially in an rcmp area. see how much u hate them then.

  • Band of thugs? This is the RCMP. They've been in operation for over a hundred years, they've saved thousands, if not millions of lives. If your going to condem them all for the mistakes of a couple man, shame on you.

When you need help, your going to call 911 and you might get an RCMP. Your not going to be thinking about BC, your going to be thinking "Thank god your here officer".

  • Where do you get such hatred from against the RCMP?

  • A lot of it is the negative things that have happened in the past years. It's a few bad apples.

  • ok i see your point but calling the entire operation a band of thugs is very over blown

  • Man that is so awesome!!!!! I want in!

  • cowkick!

  • Thats all you do to get your badge?

  • tylers: no that is simply the presentation of the badge at the end of your training at depot

  • There is a huge parade before hand, and they do a pretty amazing show of the marching formations they've learned over their past 24 weeks of depote.

This is the badge presentation, when I saw this, each Constable was so happy during that hand shake. All their training is really for this moment.

  • Awsome!
