  • beautiful tank, i love it. id really love to get some of that wood. Good job

  • Hello my friend ur tank is a amazing

    But I have a question

Did u do something about the light or some shading in the tank?

I have the rio 180 and trying to do some shade without flooding plants

Do u have an idea for me?

  • I really like it. I am inspired...

  • Where did you get those awesome drift woods? Did you buy that? If you did, how much did you pay for? Thanks.

  • @Jackhaasoffice It's called Redmoor wood. I bought mine at my local aquarium store, but you can find it online as well. Try a google search.

  • that is nice gr8 job, check out my tank as well

  • What kind of wood is dat?

  • NIce but with that wood i think you could do better... And congo river? Well thats obviasly not south american.. as cyperus helferi..

I would try to make it more shallow and use some Lotus or Echinodorus and change the susbract only for sand..

  • what do you mean "some cheating"?

  • @321jacobm Just that the wood isn't from Orinoco, and at the time (this tank has been converted to something else now) I didnt really have enough info about the Orinoco river to be sure everything in the tank was from there, so it wasn't a strict biotope.

  • @TheNyogtha oh

  • where did you get the driftwood?

  • @KALZONE850 I bought it locally. It's sold as "Redmoor roots".

  • looks nice 5*****

  • @petrwarry72 ta mate

  • that's beautiful !!! :) good job

  • @samsinilam69 thank you :)

  • this makes me want to start a planted tank again :(

    very beautiful.

what is the fish with the black stripe starting from its eye? a gourami perhaps?

  • @Cyworldabcd It's a Mesonauta festivus (Flag Cichlid). Very nice and fairly peaceful cichlid.

  • so u used gravel instead of sand?

  • @jarrod989 I used sand mixed with "Congo River" substrate from Caribsea.

  • how did u cheat?

  • It is great btw.

    Well done.

  • @1997Terror thanks ;)

  • Which plants did you use?

Cause I want to make a Orinoco biotope too and I want to use plants from the Orinoco river.

  • @1997Terror Well, it's been a while since I had this biotope setup, but I remember spending some time figuring out the plant options. In the end I think I just went with Valisneria (maybe spiralis). Have a look at this link: orinocobiotope.blogspot.com - it's a good starting point, but double check his info if you can.

  • This is how a crowded tank should look. Everyone's healthy and happy, even though there's a lot of fish

  • @crystalclearwolf yeah.. I am guilty of overstocking that tank. I have since gotten rid of (given to petstore, not killed!) several of these fish and went with a basic amazon tank instead. Thanks for commenting :)

  • Looks killer. Love it!!!

  • @mishmosh2000 thanks man :)

  • @mishmosh2000 thanks :)

  • Now there's a tank that actually looks natural. Awesome job man!

  • @tintinapay08 thanks!

  • Hehe looks like 1 person was jealous of your tank.

Very nice though. Im sure ive seen this before somewhere.

  • @kumarsa108 thanks :)

  • @kumarsa108 Thanks :)

  • what kind of driftwood is that?

  • @2smart4uandu hey. sorry, i thought i'd replied a long time ago. My LFS sells them as "Redmoor roots". No one that I've asked seem to know where they are from (sold from a supplier in Denmark to my local shops IFRC)

  • Yer a champ. Thank you.
