Point is that you can't customize laptops because some things are built into the motherboard. Anybody know of sending gaming laptops back to be upgraded?

I bought a beast of a rig about 6 months ago - 8 gigs of ram, Core i7 3.0GHZ, ATI Radeon HD 5800 Crossfire. This Game runs at roughly 5 fps on ultra settings...

@TripleDoubleFine you're doing it wrong. Would not surprise me to see you don't have your drivers updated.

@deeahash I update the drivers regularly. The issue seems to be ubersampling; as soon as I disable it the game runs at a solid 60. Patch 1.1 was a major help as well.

(For instance, you gotta run all around a small village to get to a back alley even though you could just climb on a 10 feet high roof and jump)

Hated everything about this game.

There's basically no proper tutorial, the combat system is awfully frustrating (unless u spam ur shield early game) easy and boring, the game is very resource hungry on PC .

I almost forgot to mention that the story is very linear, you cannot jump and some quests are truly stupid (story and game-play wise) because of it.

What a disappointing sequel. TW1 was a classic. Great game. This is a console RPG that happens to have been released for the PC first. Its short, its much more linear than TW1, has no depth and its clunky to control. In every aspect other than graphics its a massive retrograde step

@Vitapantern MAN, I know how you feel dude. The only thing I have for gaming on the PC is my HP DV7 laptop. So far, there hasn't been a game I've bought that I haven't been able to play. But, this game on MAX settings?? Prob won't work. Gonna prob have to play it on like Med. Still though, even on those settings, it'll prob look better than the first Witcher.

I have two Radeon HD 5770's crossfired.  You may be able to still run this game on Ultra (with uber sampling turned off as well) with your 5870. If not, even in "High" graphic settings, it still looks pretty amazing.

So far the combat is a blast. You definitely have to be careful about how to approach battles. You cant just go in there hacking and slashing at everyone and expect to win. You must dodge, block, use magic, etc. Also, the game was built with a controller in mind

@Nebulaterous As the patch from AMD to support it isnt out yet crossfire or in my case tri fire doesnt do anywhere near what it should. A patch should be along shortly. Sadly you can complete it in 20 hours so its irrelevant.

so I have my XBOX 360 controller plugged in and I use that. I would suggest doing the same if you have a controller. If not the keyboard and mouse work just fine

@leaf16nut If you liked the witcher 1. Its rubbish. If you like console RPGs, its exactly the same as many of them. But then again if you like a console feel to your RPGs two worlds 2 is actually better than this. (never thought I would get to make a favourable comparison with TW2 but there you go.
