Thanks for the info Rob. I have just planted several maples, but am now having planters remorse. The trees are about 30 feet away from my house, but I am worried that might be too close because of damage the roots might cause to the foundation of my house and piping. Do you think 30ft away from the house is too close?

depends on what type of maple i assume acer plamatum, if so no prob 30ft, can go 15ft if wanted? and small roots take 50 years to hurt anything.
