This is a bootleg video with ultra shitty sound quality. It's pretty arrogant to think you can make a fair assessment of the performance from this. I've seen Rik with Triumph and on his own, and I have no doubt that the only problem here is the recording, not the performance.
I had the pleasure of meeting Rik at an expo a few years back. I only spoke with him for a minute but I was watching and listening for almost an hour while he spoke with others. The man's as humble as he is talented.
All any clip on you tube is a moment captured in time. I did not have a big production camera or a direct audio line from the sound board . All this and all my videos are just taken with my little hand camera and are just ment for enjoyment to give a few people a chance to see a show they were at or missed. This video has had over 6,600 hits so i think a few people have enjoyed the fact that I captured it . Just enjoy and take it for what it is just a home movie .
Not bashing the quality of your camera equipment and I appreciate the video post. I'm just reminding some people that YT is a poor reference source for judging a performance. Sorry if you got caught in the crossfire there.
again - my opinion is regarding rik is valid, and was not directed at anyone else - just my observations - why you cant have your opinion, and NOT hurl insiults at me, is ,well, exactly what makes you think this Clapton-tribute crap is good - no depth, perspective - just another rabid fan who would think it WAS great if he did say an ABBA tribute next -
are you kidding?? LAME!! clapton is impressed i'll bet :( ....guitar playing not bad, but the rest of the band??? and could the rodaie run onstage a few more times?? why doesnt somebody gve him a guitar??

I've said it before, and I will say it again.....
Rik Emmett, along with Mr. Lifeson, and
Mr. Jeff Healey, in my personal opinion,
are the "cream of the crop" of Canadian guitar players......hell, not just in Canada,
but anywhere in the world!!
