  • Good song Adventure set!

  • anyone by some wild chance have a recording of "Under Suspicion"? That was my favorite of theirs and I can't find a recording anywhere...this takes me back!

  • Awesome, now all you need is Judy's Tiny Head! :-)

  • I'd gladly post $20 via PayPal for a good to excellent quality full-length/album version of this song in mp3/mp4 format! Wonder if anyone out there can help?

  • Kenny you rock...you guys should have won.

if you like this sound check out "Delphic" and "Delorian" two new (2010) bands bringing back this sound. Also the song "Wonderful Life" by "Hurts"

  • been looking for this song for years. THANK YOU!!!!!!

  • Classic! I looked for the EP for years and my wife finally found it in a record store in Nashville. Let me know if you ever got a copy.

  • zarrodude, if I make it to heaven before you do, I am going to put in the very best word for you- YOU ROCK for posting this! I have been searching and searching for it and any info on Adventure Set for years! In 1981 I came to Boston to go to college and was blown away by the talent and the Boston Bands (yes, in caps) The 80s were the very best era for music especially in Boston, and I loved Adventure Set and Down Avenue to name just a few- THANK YOU AGAIN for sharing this gem with the world!

  • @nutsandboltsma - Thank You Very Much! I Really Really Needed That!

  • @nutsandboltsma - there's a copy on eBay now, item 350345143916 ending May 3rd

  • The Boston music scene will never be the same as it was in the 80's. I forgot about this band!!!

  • WOW GREAT TO SEE THIS!!

  • I'm sorry...in 1985, on the heels of Til Tuesday, way too many bands sounded and looked like this one..the synths and funk bass were not condusive to playing live ROCK music..I'm glad that a band like the Bags began playing in 85' to put an end to this suff

  • wow. words escape me. i never thought i would find this on youtube. i have their EP on vinyl still, plus the original version of this song taped off of FNX back in the day. i sort of knew ken & brad. my dad worked for brad's girlfriend's dad at the time- they took me to see echo & the bunnymen at the channel =D thanks for posting this- it made my day to find this

  • You have the EP! My God, can you post the songs? I love to hear them again.

  • i do have the EP, but gave it to a friend to transfer to MP3s. when i eventually get it back (he's had it for awhile) i will try to post them =)

  • We would love you FOREVER if you did that- THANK YOU for being a guardian of history!

  • @zarrodude -- Hi, I just saw a copy of the EP for sale on the dotcom music marketplaces, gemm and musicstack. It's very hard to find nowadays.

  • I've been looking for Great White Way and Blue is for Boys for decades...thank you!!

  • great white way! fabulous song

  • This was a wonderful time to be in your 20s and going to see local bands. Will the Boston music scene ever be this good again? Many happy memories of Ken's beautiful voice in Adventure Set (and Pastiche). Thank you so much for posting this!

  • Thanks for all the great comments. I loved these guys, and we all have great stories to reveal about the time. But no one has commented on my parody description. Does any one know where "My life fades..." diatribe comes from?

  • @zarrodude Mad Max II - the Road Warrior ~!

  • @zarrodude (I realize I'm two years late to the game here, but) The Road Warrior. :)

  • Great time in Boston and the music scene was super Hot with all the bands mentioned above. I always thought it was criminal that AS were never signed to a major label.

  • Forgot to mention New Man was in it that year as well as many other great locals..Rick Berlin

  • Great band...This was the rumble of all rumbles....1985 Dogmatics, hoods, lizzie, and in the finals Adventure vs Down Ave. What great memories

  • Thank you for posting this video. This was, in my opinion, a great period of Boston Music. Adventure Set, November Group, Electric toys, Down Avenue, Ball and Pivot, 'Til Tuesday, Face to Face, Ball and Pivot, the Neighborhoods, Rick Berlin, etc., etc., It was a fun time. Local bands would be played on WBCN during the day and on WLYN (later to become (WFNX). You could see live music every night. There was an excellent caliber of musicians and bands. It was fun. Ken, I want my tape.

  • Do any of you guys have a list of bands this year? This was the hey day of The New Models, November Group. They must have been in around this time.

  • I have the Phoenix newspaper special section for the WBCN Rumble. It lists all the bands that performed in 1985. I will find it and post the roster.

  • I lived at Spit from '85-'88, especially Tuesday nights. Is this the Battle of the Bands when Adventure Set was up against Down Avenue? My recollection is that they performed at the Orpheum? I was such a groupie. Steve Monahan was always so nice to me and my friends. One of them worked with Ken Scales at the Coop for a time.

  • Yes, exactly. I was contracted through John Minihan to video tape Adventure Set and Down Avenue. What is shown is like a 3rd generation vhs edit of the live show. I wish I still had the raw original of both concerts. I would post them. I recently found a raw Adventure Set sound check at the the Marriott Conservatory back in 1986. I post that soon.

  • It turned into a similar club called Axis until the House of Blues took it and Avalon over. I think I may have gone to this,.so many shows so long ago.

  • Is this at spit?

  • Yeah. I have not been there since 1989. It is still called the Spit?
