You don't know what true Christianity is ... but then so few people do, including most Christians. It's far better and more than what even they think. Wright has a fairly good idea of it ... and in fact if you studied his works more you'd know that he agrees with you that salvation is poorly understood by most and found, not in mere believing, but by showing one's faith through their works ... the whole "faith without works is dead" scripture. No offense, but even most Christians don't know what true Christianity is ... what makes you an expert? Wright has a fairly good idea of what it is ... and in fact if you studied his works more you'd know that he agrees with you that you can't get to heaven based on what you believe. Depends on your definition of "we" ... if you are correct that the spark that gives life to a simple cell is nothing more than a self-sustaining system of cyclical reactions impossibly evolved out of chaos by mere chance, made possible only by assuming we live in a pocket of serendipity in an infinite multiverse (where 99.999999% of other universes never evolve to this point of sophistication), then I agree with you. If you believe that we will live for eternity, but never age or become decrepit, it follows that the concept of time doesn't exist. If time DID exist in the same way as it does here during our brief stint on earth, heaven would be a pointless, boring existence as another poster has already pointed out.

@whoanellybelle If you have all eternity, then 1000 years can be as one day. Time is no limit from that perspective. But Peter isn't talking about time as non-existent for God. I'm quite sure there will be night and day in ordinary sense on the new earth, because it was created so and "it was good". There won't be "night" in the sense that we will be always with God and "will see His face". God is in the business of restoring original creation, not abandoning it.

1st of all, the concept of time won't exist in heaven, so eternity won't mean the same thing as it does here on earth. 2nd, even now, when knowledge is exploding, they are finding evidence of life on Mars. Read about the size of 1 galaxy, trillions of light years away, and there are innumerable galaxies in outer space. Visit a different one every week you'd never be finished. That is what we'll be doing for eternity, not sitting around on a cloud playing a harp, more vitally alive than ever.

I commented that one day all believers would be united w/ moshiach in Yerushalaem and reign over the whole earth with him.
