His beliefs revolve around Nietzsche's philosophy that you are your own God and Satan, because you are responsible for your own good and evil. In his book, The Long Hard Road Out of Hell, he makes it completely obvious, and describes it just like that. He met Anton LaVey, who was the founder of the first Satanic church, because he was a genius, not because MM himself worships Satan.
