  • Dave's sly smile at 2:30 is like he's saying "that's right, I fuckin' wrote this"

  • Whoa! When did Letterman move to Vh1, and Chicago?!? Jeez, it seems I just came out of a cave . . .

    Haha!!

  • good coordination, tough song to sing and play....well

  • Amazing version. You know a band's good when they're better live than in the studio.

  • that is definately not letterman

  • yes, this was for letterman.

    the set was:

-where are you going (which was the single)

    -grey street

    -you never know

    -grace is gone

  • This song and Grey Street are my two favorites. Definitely songs that never get old.

  • One of DMB's best post-BTCS songs by a mile.

  • Definitely. One of their best ever i think.... it always sounded like it should have been a BTCS track to me.

  • This was when Dave's voice was in his prime.

  • For sure!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @DrumsFoDaSoul agreed!!

  • @DrumsFoDaSoul

    So True

  • This concert copied the Beatles.

  • ... or... the Beatles went back in time and copied DMB

  • @MRoane41 Wouldn't the Beatles have to go forward in time?

  • @MRoane41 Well DMB this this without the police ruching in and making them stop.

  • wasnt a concert, was one song for a letterman show

  • Stop making other fans jelous :)

  • Heard it! sunday night alpine valley woooooo

  • Heard it from the front row of the FleetCenter the first time ever played live in 2002(i think) sounded just as sweet then as it does now...

  • Must be cool to be there with so few people compared to a concert with 20 thousand people

  • roi.........

  • its amazing to think that they are human. Best band ever by far

  • YES

  • yeah hands down

  • this is how it began for DMB, playing a gig on a rooftop

  • I honestly think this is my favorite song...the lyrics take me to a great place.

  • this is the vh1 rooftop concert not Letterman

  • I love this song, and they dont play it enough live...

  • I'd have to say that this is one of DMB's deepest songs. Tied for my favorite with JTR and Pig

  • JTR rocks.

  • so true

  • hellz yea

  • my favorite song. period.

  • why did they have to cut out Roi's solo?!

  • So sad Leroy is gone.

  • spell the name right bud

  • prob. to fit tv time, i hope they play this this sping/summer 09

  • They did last week! It's back! :D

  • the best song DMB ever had

  • Damn I love this BAND... 12yrs and counting.. GOOD DAMN MUSIC..

  • If you mean in their existence, it'll be 19 next tour.

  • i always thought i was the only one who thought the moon chased the car.

  • the best song they have written since BTCS. gives me chills

  • dunno why but it sounds exactly like gorge '02

  • I noticed that too...

  • that would be waaaay tight to be up on the roof watching dave....totally amazing....i'd be a little scared of lightning though lol

  • i was up on the roof that day it was amazing!!!!

  • dave seems so happy in this video.

  • thats one thing thats awesome about DMB, their always so happy you know, you can really tell when a band SHOULD be a band when they are all happy to be on stage performing. It shows their passion for their music. Beautiful Song.

  • they can be on a roof of a skyscraper with a 10 square foot space...always the same set up !

dave center boyd left stefan right roi way right and carter jammin in the back

  • If Carter played this by himself, it'd be a wicked solo, that shows how busy he is during this tune, awesome!

  • i wonder what cd this would have been put on if they chose to release the lillywhite sessions back in 2000

  • well its on busted stuff now

  • It would have been on a complete version of lillywhite, which we all know should have been released :) JK Dave you can do no wrong in my eyes!

  • dave magic fingers

  • I love the way Stefan sways back and forth

  • It's called the whitey bassist dance,... quite a spectacle.

  • Dave growin some hair back?

  • it's spray on hair

  • Doubt it.

  • lol your comment reminding me of those terrible tv ads for it

  • This song is hard to play....wicked hard

  • i second that. and dont even ask me about the time sig

  • seriously, i'm slightly befuddled but i'm going with a 12/8 (the count in the beginning) and them i think they alternate with the stress on 1 and then they switch up to rests and stresses on 2?????...hit me back with a suggestion...

  • i'm an idiot...it's 6/8

  • yeah i guess it is in 6/8, at least the beginning part...they just put the stress on an odd beat or something...the bridge is 5/8, 5/8, then 6/8 i think...something close to that....w/e though its a sweet song, go dmb!

  • thanks...i've been listening to the song more and i hear it now...wish i would have wrote it; great song...

  • aight its 6/8 in the beginning for a measure but then right when it should be "8 2 3" it is very different than 6/8. Then they switch off between 3/4 and 2/4 (1 2 3 1 2_ 1 2 3 1 2...)at "one day we might see, doing not a thing" and they just overlap a few different time signatures throughout.

  • you're totally right thank you.

  • what does that mean?

  • That camera shot from ~2:48 - 2:59 is AWESOME!!

  • I remember watching this on letterman that night. I had just bought the CD busted stuff and me and my dad listened to it the whole way home!

  • wow en vivo!!!!

  • I love this song, and they dont play it enough live...

  • The best musicians hands down! Always loved them, always will. :-)

  • nice
