  • loving the rockabilly !!

  • tard

  • This guy is a pro folks - he's been doin' it for a while now (since at least 1986). Hope all is well Johnny - great vid btw, Later.

  • God damn! That motherfucker was movin'! You got bigger balls than me!!!

  • you got balls man. i have been hopping trains for a while and i still dont like doing ones that fast

  • What a absolute dickhead - one slip getting on at that speed and you'd be cut in half.

  • hello superjono2,

your comment is for the ages... the ages between 9 and 13.

i will say that the train was a bit fast for my taste, but the train was rolling and so was the film. sometimes you just gotta go for it.

    cheers and good luck, j.

  • Leading end !!

    Not trailing end !!

    Leading end !!

  • gotta be super careful, a lot of people have lost limbs doin that

  • how far did you ride?

  • Before you a temped to teach mabie you should learn how to do it properly. Leading end, trailing foot dude. If that hogger even touched his bakes you would have ate it up there. But like they say you can't fix stupid.

  • Only hop a movin one when u really have to, and lets see this guy pull it off with a big water bottle and a sleepin bag on him.

  • hello,

i would not hop a train going that fast with a big water bottle and a sleeping bag. i would wait for an slower train. good thinking. cheers and stay well.

    johnny

  • nice man.

nice graff work there too yoo!

  • Damn, that was a fast hop! And then running around on the top too: you, sir, have guts.

  • alot of em too

  • Jeez wouldnt wanna run into those power lines while your up there near the end D:

  • that must have been fun as hell to run on the roofs of the cars. i want to do that. oh and its better when you hop on to the tankers, i shud know that.

  • Tankers are no good for riding. They have a ladder, but that's all they have, and most cars of any kind have a ladder. They offer no place at all to sit, so you'd be hanging off the side by your arms for your entire trip. For a ride of a hundred yards, maybe a tanker would be better because the ladder sticks out... but that's a pretty lame ride.

  • u cud sit on the roof

  • A few problems with that:

-On a lot of tankers, there's nothing to hold onto up there

-Nothing to block the wind like on a grainer or boxcar, so you'd get chilled to the bone

-Nowhere to hide, so someone would almost certainly see you and call the cops, and they would haul you to jail

  • true, but in my town its the only cars that go threw and i just started hoppin trains this year, plus its hard 2 find a train in my town since they mostly come threw at night and they come like a couple times a month. if i hear it comin from the next town i might get lucky, cuz i liv right by the tracks and it sometimes has a back engine so i cud try 2 hop that.

  • That was a sick jump dude that was pretty cool.

  • I noticed you got on the trailing end of the car with another car behind it. You should always get on the leading end of a car, because If you miss, you'll hit the side of the car, but if you get on the trailing end of a car and miss, you'll go between the car and the one behind it, and be run over by the second car. The only time you can get on the trailing end of a car is when there's no ofthere car behind it.

  • lmao. nice. that jump was pretty siick, dude.>

  • u want to get on the oil tank its got a ladder jutting out.

  • dude, you can reply with the most intelligent things u can think of but anyone that knows trains'll tell ya it was a dumb idea.

it is not a subject that needs teaching.

    stay off the rails, simple.

their just too dangerous. for everyone.

  • no they are not.

    Period.

    .

  • DO NOT listin to this idiot you gotta figure out when and where a crew change is ..

  • Hello,

thanks for viewing and making a suggestion.

but i stated "how to catch a freight train," not "when to catch a freight train." it is important when stating an argument or case against someone to listen. it is a very good skill to have.

now may i make a suggestion: maybe you should make a video on when and where to catch a freight train. i am sure others would appreciate your knowledge on the subject.

so thanks and enjoy the ride.

  • I searching for how can i jump in safety, and i found i think thx. I'll do it in my homeland Hungary.

  • bad idea. never hop a moving train. one slip and this guy could've died or lost his legs. happens all the time.

  • hello,

i must agree here. if at all possible grab a freight when it is at rest. much easier.

but if you have to snatch one moving, try to do it not running on rocks or gravel. flat, solid surfaces with as little debris as possible.

plus, this train was moving a bit too quick for my taste but we had the camera rolling and sometimes you just have to go for it. be safe,

    johnny

  • I am going to hop on freight in Europe, Poland ( I m Lithuanian). I'll get on the condola at night, when nobody could see ( in Poland usually isn't any lights or buls)

  • it was a little fast but i stick to tankers and autoracks occasionaly when they are slow to catch tags and shit

  • On a fuel car if you try to go on the roof you will fall down...Duh......

  • hello,

i believe you are correct in your assessment of going atop a fuel car. there is not a track up top for a person to walk. No good. and it would be hard to stay aloft. thanks and stay well,

    johnny

  • wow man.

but i never understand why it's best to hop in a grain car and not on a fuel car for example.

  • because there is nowhere to hide on a fuel car dumbass.

  • ok ok i get it but i just asked

  • just imbeded your video on our hobo lifestyle website. thanks. the hobosoul.

  • nice camera work.

  • EXCELLENT!!!

  • thanks for you reply, PLEASE remember to be careful around trains, and watch empty tracks, railroad crews shove cars down tracks in switchyards without anyone riding the ends of cars sne you may not hear them coming, also watch my trainride at dwain 13for cab views

  • sorry but thats not the proper way to hop a train. best to NOT be moving at all and you got on the wrong end of the car, you should get on the leading end of the car not the trailing end. find you a book of rules and study it if you insist on playing with trains, better yet, apply for a job there, pays is good

  • Hello, thanks for the tips. I will use the leading end of the car next time. As for your book of rules, obviously i am breaking few. so i think i will not go find it. I love being a professional musician, not interested in applying for a rail engineer. good luck to yourself. thanks for the comment, Johnny

  • Are you eating something or chewing gum?? Is that in front of Trackside in Decatur?

  • Chewing Gum. I was having a bubble blowing contest with the camera man on our way to creep an abandon insane asylum at 3am. Just happen to get stuck at a train track and so goes history...

    j

  • hha john ur fucking hillarious.. big up to u and real nice video oh and do you know the speed?

  • hello, the speed? well...might have been around 23 to 29 mph. it was really moving by the time we got the camera rolling. then, hell! i had to do it. be safe. johnny

  • I've done that before. except i didn't hope on top, I just hung on

  • Uhhhh...you be crazy.

  • I'm sorry Johnny, but you should leave train riding to those who know how to do it. Your "proper" way of catching a train on the fly was not proper, nor is it responsible of you to encourage people to jump from car to car. It is usually drunk idiots and people who don't know how to ride trains that get seriously hurt or killed on the rails.

  • hello,

thanks for watching. but If you paid closer attention i said, "watch and observe," not "watch and do." if you are going to de-rail my video, then do it by listening first.

and for your information i do not drink, nor do i do drugs. ever. So when you point your finger at someone, remember there are three pointing back at yourself.

Also for your comment "leave the train riding to those who know how to do it," well.. obviously i know how. thanks again and good luck,

    johnny
