  • great job though

  • Just a suges.

I cant remeber wich Bach song it was but it sounds a lot better when the strings are one step lower

  • These 2 menuets are dear to my heart. I played them for my NYSSMA competition yeeears ago & got A+. You play them beautifully.

  • I'm learning how to play this song, and the way you play it is much better than on the Suzuki Book 4 CD!!

  • I love your playing!! I have a cello but don't know how to start... There aren't anyone in my city that teach how to play and I don't know how to tune it! It's so beautiful, either way! : )

  • You are great at cello. I play the bass guitar, and cello is one of the many instruments I hope I can get the joy of learning how to play. Cellos are one of the many instruments that can move your emotions easily.

  • i think you are an amazing cellist.i have watched many of your videos and they are very inspriring to me.i think you should play the gigue from bachs 3rd suite.i am working on that now and it is quite fun.i am only 13 and have been playing for 2 years so you would most likely master it much faster than i.

  • God bless you youtube.com, I have never been able to see good Cellos play like these unless I had rehersals, this is fantastic, you're a fantastic cellist, well played!

  • I'm sorry, but I didn't quite catch the name of this piece. What is it called? I heard that it was a Sarabande of some sort in the six suites...?

  • This is the Menuet from Suite No.1 by Bach.

  • These are the minuets from the first suite.

  • wow very nice. i'm playing the whole first suite at a friend's confirmation next week. i noticed you played an E flat in the third bar of the second minuet which is what i do too, despite there being no indication of it being flat in my copy or any other i've seen. it sounds right though. anyway, i'm looking forward to next episode.

  • excellent dynamics! what make is your cello? it's so full of life!

  • good shit

  • Killer!!! Loved it!

  • Thanks for sharing cellojourney on YouTube. The whole family looks forward to the next installment.

  • I LOVE BACH! thats great.

  • Nice. I think my favorite pieces from the Bach solos is Suite no. 2 Prelude and Sarabande.

  • This song I like to, I also play it often. Very nice music in six suites.

  • Once again, awesome! I'm so glad you're receiving such positive feedback. As always, looking forward to more from you!

  • Those minuets are one of my favorites of the Bach cello suites. Great interpretation.

  • agreed, please start including the titles of the pieces you play! This has already been suggested from the 1st performance.

I disagree about formal dress, I think the informal setting is great, it makes things seem more relaxed and approachable. Just about any public classical performance will have some guy in an obviously uncomfortable tux. That is really unnecessary since there is only one player in this setting. No need for uniforms.

  • Awesome, good job.

  • Yay! I love listening to the cello. Thanks for making this video!! :)

  • Hi good job. Please mention the composer and name of the piece next time. I think it will help promote classical music to those who are not very knowledgeable about it.

great work. you're doing a wonderful thing for the classical music genre by bringing it into the 21st century.

  • Nice work- this is the kinda video that makes it worth sifting through all the poor videos, the rare good one...

  • awesome~~

  • That was seriously awesome. I actually just recently played that song in a district UIL Solo and Ensemble contest on my cello. The judge was rather frank and said that I sucked. Now I see why. Now I see how Bach is meant to be played.
