What's funny is a kind of gold prospectors' fever. Once they have the nuggets, or in some cases even flakes/dust they don't want to get rid of them. I'd sell that chunk of metal in a heartbeat...unless I caught that fever, that is.
@biomansoil you can actually go to a jewelry markets or a prospector bank and they pay by gram today's price determines on spot price and it goes for different purities such as 14 karats is about 58.5% pure so it all determines on the amount you have and the karat(purity) but remember in the gold buying business most if not all people are sleazy and liars they'll say your getting a good deal but your actually getting cheated out
@FinelineNation No, it wouldn't have been funny if it turned out to be dog poo. Dog poo is terrible. It would have been funny if it had turned out to be a monkey, one of the little ones that plays an instrument.
It's strange how people get amazed (goes crazy) over things thats rare to see. Just like breasts, it's not something you see everyday, thats why we want them.
I bet my left eyeball that if a normal gray rock was as rare as diamonds/gold, we would go NUTS if we found a huge one:33 Just a thought.
@Vdp0el Thats taken for granted though... If something is rare, its net value would be a lot higher than something that isn't rare, hence why we desire such rare items.

who buys the gold after it is mined and do you get a fair market value for it?
