What maf adaptor did you use? I think that there is two and you have to get the more expensive one which is like 25 bucks. I got the one that was ilk 13 and now I have horrible boast lag and I made mine a SRI. Yours looks and sounds good man.

Thank you gabe12329... I really dont think the length of the tube is what u need to worry about. Hence they have short rams and full CAI's. The most important thing is the maf sensor. It was a pain in the ass finding the right maf sensor adapter. Once u do that and know u arent going to throw any codes then u should be fine no matter what the length of the pipe is. I have since redone my intake. Still homemade ofcourse but not throwing codes anymore.

You can get a Spectre filter for $20 or $30... They are pretty good filters and you can get the cleaner for them as well....

dude even injen/mazdaspeed (1st gen intake) were having problems throwin codes to do turbulance and shit prob not the best idea to make ur own

Go with Corksports SRI w/ TIP combo. you get the best results for you money, at only $239 + shipping. All the CAI's cost about that much, but don't come with the Turbo Inlet Pipe ( which the TIP is about a 10 to 12 hp gain). Plus no chance of sucking up water with the SRI.

Short Ram Intake will put it kinda behind your light and a Cold Air Intake will put it under you light.

only thing is, you need to hide it somewhere where it won't catch dirt. If you don't have foglights, but there are cutouts for them that is the best place to put the CAI

Does it show any error codes and How is the throttle response? I'm thinking of doing something similar to my speed and don't want to shell out $300 bucks but I also don't want to kill a $20g car.

Thats all good, but watch for CELs and you should bend it into the wheel well. Where your at you may be sucking hot air into it. Other CAI's are tested from Manufactors for CEL's and a still safe A/F ratio. But good luck with it.
