Fantastic sound here. This guitar covers all the pieces you quote here really really well!! Of course your playing is excellent. But what I mean is it's amazing how this axe seems to be able to produce the sound. I want one for X-mas. :-) Is it an actual Gibson 335 or a copy?
@patbreacadh Sorry, I didn't cop on that "Riviera" was the guitar brand... It sounds great! Of course I guess with clean sound, it will never have the air, crispness, and transparency of a strat... so you still need a strat... Still in this clip it's just amazing!
@shotgunndunn Always a problem fitting in the guitar when families are concerned. Also strange when a woman asks you to tone up and you go straight to your guitar, I'll never be able to suss them out :D
Hey dude. Love the vid, i love the zooropa and the crumbs especially. But wire is just awesome! Can you tell me the chord thats played after the single notes? like you play the delay riff, then you play the muted strings, then you play a chord right before the vid ends. When I play this song, I always thought that chord sounded wrong (the one I play) but yours sounds right.
Nice job. That guitar does a lot of different tunes justice. You definitely go for a lot of the same sounds I do. The picking and twanging of notes is awesome. Keep posting. Do some full versions too.
Great as usual, of course(!). I would absolutely love to see more of Wire. A 5-second teaser... well it leaves me hungry for more. Thanks for sharing. EWB
Love it man, you're spot on. Love your fingerings on In a Little While - not exactly Edge's, but you change it around to make it more efficient with your hammer-ons. Brilliant on Zooropa as well!!! Would love to see the whole clips now, as we enjoy listening to the songs in their entirety.

would you say this guitar gives you a gretsch-ish tone on a budget? i really love that sound but i cant afford a proper gretsch
weebrycey 2 years ago
No more like a ES335 (jazzy wooddy sound) These pups are 57 classics?? to get a good Gretsch sound id get a set of Filter tron pups.

Thanks again. Yes you have a good eye. Its one of those things where you learn a song one way and cant change it after its engrained in your head :)
