  • Shut down the BOR and give the dams to the states.

  • I heard someone in the audience say "pot", when he asked the question.

  • Truther..!? Should not all of us be truthers? What ever that implies? So if I question the "official Government report" I'm a truther?

Here's the thing my house burnt to the ground a few years back and it took them well over 2 years to close the investigation. For over 6 weeks nothing could be moved on the property until they had finished gathering evidence. The amount of due diligence was pretty incredible. I did not see the same type of due diligence in the 9/11 investigations..

  • Bronze: Best accident ever!!!

  • "Hey buddy" "a what.." "your sitting on my hat, I think...or...was it..., awww I forget, got a light?"

  • Props Keith

  • I like Keith, but I felt that 'Worst' category was a bit of a cheap shot really. The USBRCICRE would take heat from SOMEBODY if they used the name of any real terrorist group, so they just made one up. Is that wrong?

  • I am not a "truther" because I don't know whether it was an inside job but I have no doubt whatsoever that the US is definitely lying somewhere in their story because the US government lies to everyone..

  • lol

  • I still think he should get rid of this segment, and though it is entertaining, it doesn't add much to the discourse of the nation. He could spend time doing in depth analysis of other things that are seldom talked about.

  • @snipzor Shame thousands of others disagree, which is why he brought it back. Seems Jon Stewart's little transparent message of 'discourse' fell flat on its ass, when not a single conservative loud-mouth would budge an inch and calm down their rhetoric. Bravo to Keith for standing up to the false-equivalency.

  • @dealornodealmofo So what if thousands of others disagree? People who argue based on popularity aught to shampoo my crotch.

In terms of actual merit, the segment is damaging to the discourse. It gives credence to the people over at FOX News or Free Republic to continue their tirade at the rate they are going at. The fact that you are discounting ideas of discourse is disgusting, and quite frankly, a suitable example of how bad it has gotten lately.

  • @snipzor there are times when there is no other side of the story, and this segment is good for highlighting that. the 3 minutes here don't outweigh the other 45 or 47 minutes of the show.. which often serves to correct the record on what the corporate conservatard media reported or failed to report.

I don't often care about the tirades of faux news or the freepers, unless they inspire someone to go and kill, as has been documented.

  • @snipzor btw, how have you been? you're one of my first friends on youtube!!

  • @KataVideo I'm quite good, well... meh, but I have been quite busy with college and research, and implicit behind the scenes stuff that's quite fun (Also trolling the rad feminists and calling them out as sexist transphobic douches).

I've been a bit frustrated with media lately, well American media to be specific. I'm not alone in that mind you, but I haven't focused on the whole Fox News critique of media, because there is a lot more to it than just that. Can't get into it, ran out of space =P

  • @snipzor the three forms of media we seem to have are: right-wing bias, corporate media which facilitates it through laziness or a hidden bias, and left-wing media which is seemingly constantly on a defense footing, correcting the record.

  • @snipzor Bullshit. I wasn't discounting your idea.

I was just pointing out the fact that one asshole on the internet having a breakdown is no reason to cancel a popular segement.

"the segment is damaging to the discourse. It gives credence to the people over at FOX News or Free Republic to continue their tirade at the rate they are going at."

More bullshit. Not a god-damn thing will stop them from doing what they are doing. Nothing, nada, zip. What you want is Fox to go unchallenged.

  • @dealornodealmofo I wasn't having a breakdown, I'm actually quite calm and my writing is quite relaxed. If I were having a breakdown, I would sound something like this:

    "BLAAARGGGAIOSEKKRITMOOSELIMB!!!"

    Good times ^_^

Also, I think you don't necessarily understand where I'm getting at with what I say. It's like the school asshole/bully (And yes, politics and news media in America is childish), address everything and you play into their hands, give them nothing and they disperse.

  • I mean, we already know the people who watch Fox News will never actually reconsider things, but it is known that this petty squabbling between networks is really childish and takes away from the chances to talk about everything important. MSNBC always having to defend ratings against Fox is a perfect example. The constant dickwaving is pathetic, because at the end of the day, neither of them are PBS or CBC.

  • @snipzor Yes, because they were really just planning on 'dispersing' in 2001 when they manipulated an election and 2003 when they set the tone for the Iraq war (all pre-Olbermann).

If you want to accuse others of not understanding something, while at the same time being a bastion of naïveté, go ahead. By the way, your response to Mark Crimson was fucking juvenile, so don't be giving a 'let's be adult about this' sermon, when you are having a childish fit yourself.

  • @snipzor "Sometimes the first duty of intelligent men is the restatement of the obvious" -George Orwell

People are idiots. Ignoring them doesn't make them go away. I may not like Palin, or Beck, or O'Reilly, or all those other people. But you can't just let them go when they do stupid stuff, because they're not just going to stop on their own. The correct response to insanity is not silence, but to highlight just moronic they are.

  • @MarkCrimson Okay, just because you have a quote doesn't mean there's any validity to your statement, watch me do the same.

"Holy shit! I'm in a box!"

Putting the spotlight on the crazies doesn't delegitimize them, it does the exact opposite. The crazies are given stage to speak, and even though they act the comic fool, but end of the day they are still given center stage as though they were a legitimate character from the start. This in itself is damaging.
