  • Great live performance..takes me back

  • underrated song! its awesome!

  • Hard to imagine that Boris Williams who was a member of The Cure used to be the live drummer for The Thompson Twins.

  • Having a bass player as a silhouette was just genius , they were so good

  • I miss them soooooooooooooooo much

  • Fantastic performance by the good ol' Thompson Twins!!!

Sure, Tom and Alannah are great, but Joe Leeway contributed so much (including a co-credit here for Lighting Design), and really perfectly complemented the band.

    This was 1983, peoples!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gettin to feel a little old now..........

  • Who are the people in shadows? The secret Thompson Twins?

  • one reason why i loved MTV in the '80's because I was exposed to all of the great acts such as the Thompson Twins, Duran Duran, Culture Club, U2, Thomas Dolby, the guy that sung "Cars" or yeah, Gary Numan. listen to gospel, contemporary gospel, old school (early rap), r&b, jazz to name a few...what can i say my musical taste just flourished... who am i kidding it still is. LOL :)

  • see we already were futuristic in the 80's...how much more futuristic can we get? emo dark space...big hair man! i just realized there is an ic at the end of future...really...wow!

  • see we already were futuristic in the 80's...how much more futuristic can we get? emo dark space...big hair man!

  • Around 5 mins in you can see how the lead singer is an attention whore, he bangs on the cymbal than pushes the other guy off the keyboards and jams

  • i drove my roommate up a freakin wall playing this album over and over in the mid 80s. one of their best songs---they are awesome live!

  • I always thought it was funny that Thompson Twins used a live rhythm section onstage, even though on the records, it was all done with drum machines and synth bass. I think Tom Bailey said all the bass lines on Into The Gap and Sidekicks was done with an Oberheim OBX-a.

  • Amazing how good they sounded live.

  • One band I would give anything to see again as a reunion tour...I was too fucked up to remember much the first 2 times I saw them in the day.

  • I have this on DVD!Too bad they didnt release Into The Gap Live on DVD....

  • Thompson Twins 4 ever! <3

  • Great concert, still have my ticket stub in a box,

    Royal Court Theatre, great venue

  • i was there that night great times and still have this on video

  • that were great times - i miss them !

  • one of the great bands of the 80's they dared to be original, and had such a great sense of 80's style. Richard Blade and KROQ played the hell out of this band.

  • I saw that show at the NJersey Garden State Arts Center...Berlin opened up/GREAT show!!!!

  • Yes, you have an excellent memory, I forgot about Berlin who opened for The TT. Thank you very much for that tibit.

  • I remember seeing this on T.V. Thanks for the wonderful memories from an outstanding band. I also had the pleasure to see them perform live a couple of times, once at Radio City music hall, & once at The Garden State Atrs center as it was known back then.

  • This was the first gig I ever went to... Amazing post!!

    Ta

  • Ay ay ay...it reminds me of being that annoying 16 year old 'hooligan' when I visited FC Den Haag...what a memories...

  • NEW WAVE ROXXXX!!!!!

  • the 12" to this was awesome! "Rap boy Rap"!!

  • Andrew Bodnar from Elvis Costello, Graham Parker and The Rumour on bass- such a great sound. Cool to hear a pre-Cure Boris Williams too.

  • who filmed this? Amazing

  • I was at this actual concert....omg feel so old lol

  • love too be there too...:>}

  • My first gig. I'm so made up it's on here.

  • good to hear from you here whoever you are =)

  • YAY!!!!

sequential circuits synths were SO amazing, people today have no idea what a huge impact that company had on music...thanks for this video it is indeed historical on many counts..

    Damian aka sprintbass

  • F cool.

  • awesome . thx!

  • I'm not kidding, I saw this entire concert on Nickelodeon when I was a kid! And I never thought I'd see it again. I also remember concerts by Duran Duran, Haircut 100, Talk Talk, and The Fixx. Needless to say Nick was much cooler back then.

I remember putting a tape deck up to the TV to record this particular song and I played it probably 100 times a day till the tape wore out. Man what memories!

  • nickeloden showed this kind of stuff man nickalodeon today sucks too bad i wasnt alive in the 80's
