  • i like both singing parts n___n the first one is when they first met..

  • Did Faye Wong really sing this?

  • My favorite movie and scene. ;)

  • Lovely, Enjoyed very much. I'll look for the movie. Thank you for posting.

  • I would purely LOVE to get this soundtrack. It's like some Chinese T-Bone Burnette produced it.

  • a little michael jackson routine there by the hero. Beautiful voices.....delightful to listen to!

  • The song is "A Little Drunk" by Faye Wong and Tony Leung. ..I miss this part every time i watch the film

  • tony joker

  • This song was removed from the DVD releases of the movie (15 minutes was taken out). Not sure why -- either to tighten up the main plot? The only other reason I can see is the mouth sync is way out, or non-existent; I wonder if they were not happy with the polishedness of it or something. Too bad it was not put in as an "extra".

  • jesus will save world

  • I love this movie. Chen Chang is pure, pure sexiness. LOL The part when he saves Phoenix from that that guy is my favorite!

    Isn't it amazing??IN... many ways...

    Any way tony's song isn'nt so good,but I LOVE,LOVE him!

  • haha, chinese odyssey was a cute movie

  • Oooh! I got a question for chinese language people, maybe can someone tell me :

I was under the impression that the emperor (Chen Chang ) doesn't speak the exact language, or at least maybe not the same way as the other characters ?

I 'm completly wrong, or can you see what made me think so ?

    Thanks : )

  • I guess you must have watched the cantonese version, where Tony Leung and Faye Wong spoke cantonese. Zhao Wei and Chang Chen spoke in mandarin. cantonese is a form of dialects which is speaken by hongkong people, sort of their main language.

  • Actually Mandarin was the royal form of Chinese and was spoken in the courts and the palace. Whereas Cantonese is the more common form of Chinese and was spoken by the villagers and the peasants. At least that was what I was told by my grandfather, the son of a farmer in China.

  • No Cantonese is just a dialect from Canton

  • then why does tang dynasty poetry sound so much prettier in cantonese than mandarin?

  • @eponinelee i guess that cantonese is older, and i also read that some chinese dynasty poetry when read rhymes when said in cantonese but mandarin it does not.

  • @eponinelee becuz you speak and understand cantonese better than mandrin,

  • Not true. A language very close to cantonese was spoken during the Tang Dynasty. Then it evolve to Hakka and then to the Mandarin today.

  • Today's mandarin has not so much to do with the official language in the administration, it has more to do with the Beijing dialect spoken in the fifties and sixties. Cantonese is and was actually one of the smallest dialect groups inside China...merely spoken by the locals in a small triangle in the HK and Guangzhou area. I guess the biggest local dialect is sichuanese, hakka or the fujian dialects.

  • no, biggest is Wu dialect, spoken around Shanghai, Nanjing, Suzhou.

  • Oh thanks a lot for this answer !!!

    thank you angelus : )

  • whaaa I 've seen this movie (very cool movie, seen it many times ) but this wasn't in the version I got .

Was looking for the other song as I 'm not sure but I think they sing it too.

I just can't resist to Tony Leung nor to Faye Wong .

Having them both is always great: )

  • whats the song called

  • I believe it's just a movie song.

  • tony leung is dacing like hes on drug, this movie is cute, elixir of love is also a cute movie you should watch

  • the song is so nice, and Zhaowei is so so so beautiful in this film. However, I don't really like this film. I dont think it's good. I saw them just because of Zhaowei, my idol!

  • Zhao Wei is really pretty in Chinese Odyssey

  • Tian xia wu shuang

  • Could anyone give me the Chinese name of the movie. Thanks.

  • lol

  • My favorite part of the movie is the "Staring" scene :D

  • So cute! ^_^

  • I like it alot..it's nice..I would like to watch this movie..haven't seen it before..thanks for sharing it us.

  • I have this movie on VCD. x3 Seriously, one of the best, funniest movies I've ever seen. :D And Zhao Wei is BEAUTIFUL in this movie. x3

  • i've seen that movie! it was such a old movie. god, i think i saw that like when i was 12 or something. the orphan boy was a woodcutter and he lived with his mom. it was actually a pretty good movie.

  • You sure that wasn't "Chinese Odyssey" with Stephen Chow? This is "Chinese Odyssey 2002" so not that old.

  • This flim seem to be funny, I'll look it up. This song just remind my this other movie. I don't know the name of the movie, but it was about a flower princess from heaven and she fell in love with an orphan boy on earth. She then went down to earth to be with him, but there was this frog who eat children. I don't know if you know that movie, but yeah that song just remind me of that movie.

  • I haven't seen that movie before, but it sounds really interesting. I'll be on the look out for that movie.

    Thanks.

  • Though I did not know the movie, your feeling about this song reminding you of another movie must be very true, because this kind of song is based on Huang Mei Xi/Diao (Huang Mei Opera/Tune). In the 1960s, HongKong has made quite a lot of movies adopting Chinese tales or classical novels and using Huang Mei Diao as the characters sang through most of the stories.

  • @iyanla09 Was it a movie or a drama series? It sounds like an old 90's Singapore drama.

  • I love this film, I just got it on dvd. But this scene isn't in it! I think they must have cut it from the European release.

  • This is one of the best part of the movie, how could they cut it out?

  • @airabove really? I have a chinese version with different subtitles with this scene. I agree with madeyez, best song! How could they?! D:
