N/A MkIII's came with 4.10's in the rear stock (turbo's were 3.90s 86-88 3.70s 89-92...........that helps alot especially when camaros only came with 3.08-3.42s in the rear . MKIII's weight was 3600-3850 depending on targa or non targa top, 5 speed or automatic, turbo or non turbo.

Low HP numbers from american V8s and basically all their engines were because of emissions of the time, they had preassure to make the engines produce the least smog possible, they managed that with restricting intakes, head, exhaust and tune, a basic 5.7 chevy made what ? 245 stock, all those items were modded and the motor would make 350 easy with no turbo or supercharger, remember in the 60s those same motors had 350 to 400 hp out of the factory stock.

@jvpwtf69 considering you only get about 230 bhp from a 5 liter v8 that's just bad engineering and the supra has two less cylinders and only 3 liters and without a turbo still push out 205 easy....that's sad. Im not even going to start on the turbo lol

@Emanis12 how high a car revvs determines how much power you can get per cylinder and considering that american muscle cars red line at lower rpms then their engines are more reliable but require more power and torque to perform as well as a car with less power and less torque. american muscle cars are more about the driving experience and being able to feel like you're driving a race car for a small amount of money but that doesnt mean there arent nice cars. 2012 mustang 302 boss, check it out

@Emanis12 230 hp from a 5 liter v8 was not bad engineering, it was bad politics of the day. Obviously, you don't know much about cars and how they were built. The big 3 choked their v8's for CAFE standards. In the meantime, toyota built little gas sippers so they were able to put a little performance into their str8 6 bangers. If you think chevy can't build a word beater engine, you are sadly mistaken....
