I liked Jane, Jo and Alison's friendship - it was too bad that the show did not stick with it like they had in seasons 1 -3 ....in season 4 Jo and Jane's friendship was ruined by Richard and then in season 5 Jane goes crazy and her friendship with Alison was ruined.
Yeah, too bad the writers pissed all over Jane and Jo's friendship, making them bitter enemies. And for also forgetting Jo and Allison were even friends!
@brinpol The original concept by writer/creator Darren Starr was a drama about young singles trying to make it in Los Angeles. Friendship being the key anchor(he also wrote Bev Hill 90210), but like all "popular" tv shows he ultimately "sold out". Let the network bean counters spice up the show. Oh well, at least the early season's had a lot of substance/heart. Enjoy them on DVD.
@trexinvert I'm glad he sold out! I'm talking about the friendships the characters maintained even when the show became a soap, ie, when Amanda joined. Seasons 2 and 3 were the best, the show was still a soap but loads of fun and Alison, Jo, and Jane were all still good friends. Season 1 sucked!
this scene was never shown back in the 90s! wow! thanks for sharing! ! for those like me, who'd love to find a tv series nowadays like the old melrose (and i'm talking about season 1-3, because the rest was another show in my opinion), it's hard to explain the feeling when seeing something new in a series that has been in my life since those days when it was aired.
I felt so sorry for Jo when she gave up her baby for adoption. It was pretty much all Kimberly's fault for meddling in Jo's life with her baby. I almost cried watching Jo cry. :(
I remember this. This aired on FOX back in 1995. I was happy that Jane was connecting with Jo like they used to towards the end of season one. Jane was beginning to be used more.
This was a two part episode.the two scenes show Jo before the court hearing. The last scene shows Jo after she agrees to give up the baby for adoption rather than be embroiled in a custody battle.
One year later.. Jane'll hit her, Jo will steal Jane's fiancée, Jane will start a relationship with Jake (the 'great guy') and finally Jo'll leave MP for good, with no friends.

@brinpol yes that was one of my major pet peeves of season 4 discarding the Jane/Jo friendship.
