Thanks for the comment; however, this the pattern that we use at our school so it is hard to agree that it is not "right". If you are referring to the basic "Americans" pattern, then I think you missed the information we shared in the video about this being the "Hornet Pattern". The beautiful thing about Chinese jump ropes is that you can create any pattern that you would like once you know the basics.
this game needs to become more popular in english-speaking countries. It was the biggest fad all over Russia and E. Europe in the late nineties when I was growing up. It's still huge. We used to make up all sorts of routines, rules, games...
When we were about 7 or 8, we used to be able to jump it neck level, as in the elastic would loop round the back of the necks of the people holding. If you could jump that, that got you serious credit on the playground. Ahh, those were the days :D
