i think the theory of the song should not be polluted or distorted into something it is not, like what the populous of Schools have done with a book called catcher in the rye. a great book is unavailable in schools because so many people believe it stands for anarchy, when it really just a troubled child.... <----- major metaphor for what might happen to this song

This was a fantastic job, it would have been better if you had the time to animate the dance of the dead part but I certainly understand not having enough time to finish something. This was a great interpration of the song and I give it my highest respect, it is very hard to interprate this song, I have seen so many different views on this song and honestly i don't know what the song is acually about. Might I ask how much time you were givin to complete this?

in my opinion this track is the common people of the US , the shadowy figures represent the US government keeping secrets from us. . .cuz in a part of the song they mentioned something about the Happy Folk being blind without using their eye or somethin like that so. . .the happy folk represent normal every day people trying to accomplish living the "AMERICAN DREAM", yet the gov't is being shady and hiding things from us and making profit off of us, but thats just my opinion

i thought the story had alot of relevance to god.. ya know say he had a secret village which was pure.(happy folk) and then the outside word stumbles upon it(strange people) . and corrupts it. in the mountain is the place where all good souls come to rest. (heaven) and in heaven the roads are paved with gold. they steal the gold and kill the people of the village making god angry, god decides to destroy everything just as fast as he created it... anyone agree? idk about the usa thing tho...

legato this is superb animation! of all the videos created to this song , this is by far the most intelligent and inventive. i love the sparse and snowy whiteness of the video, it echoes perhaps the snow on the monkey mountain. the deliberate simplicity of the design of the settings and characters is clever - it matches the ambiguity of the parable of the song. i love the look of the characters. the strangefolk are suitably menacing n sinister without going overboard and the goodfolk r so cute!

they were ppl, like a primitive town, the 'strange folk' were something like the US Army.

At the end, the volcano/mountain erupted, so they obviously died because the song says: "There were no screams.. 'cause there were no time.."

the ppl didnt have the time to go away because the didnt knew the mountain would erupt, but, they knew there was something wrong with the mountain

that probably won't happen. we have all gone our separate ways but with the time we had i still think we did very well. i slacked off the rest of the class's assignments, so i relied on this to save my grade, and it did.

the animated segments we had in there were to fulfill the requirements for this final. your right, that this isn't complete. its more of an animatic than an animation. if we were to do this again with more time there is more things i would add, but very little i would change.

Maybe this song is about Pearl Harbour, think about it, the happy folk (America) were oblivious to the war, and the strange folk (Japan) attacked them when they weren't expecting it (shooting them in the back) and when the Monkey blew up like when the atomic bomb was dropped in Japan years later. Just a thought.

I know this song's meaning. The Iraqai war. WE are the people with dark glasses(America), and Iraq are the HAPPY FOLK, but we attacked them, in a pre-emptive war. The Mountin is the country itself, which is now erupted, due to war. Such an awesome song.
