@starrock779 I'm having minde four 4 years now, and in the beginning it didn't hurt at all. but two years ago, I started being in pain the days before. the "bleeding" actually doesn't hurt, it's the days before when your belly starts cramping. it's often that bad that I have to stay in bed all day long and hold my belly coz it hurts so much. taking a bath is a good way to deal with the pain.

@TheBlasianPrincess it's not true that you can't wear them as a virgin. the hymen is very soft and the small tampon won't break it. I doubt you were born without it, many virgins use tampons, it's perfectly normal and safe :)

Urr dumb gettin ur period doesnt hurt, if u get some cramps its ojay just get some hot water in a water bottle and put it on ur stomach or take some pamprin D or tylanol. Getting ur period is normal , dont be scared cuzz every girl gets it. I just started mine last tuesday and i use U by Kotex, its a really good brand and i encourage all girls to try it. @wjakahla Don't be scared. Every girl goes through this and you'll be just fine! If you see some staining (brownish, yellowish, etc) in your panties, you should wear a thin pantyliner. Be sure to pack a little cosmetic case in your schoolbag with pantyliners, a pad or two, and a fresh pair of panties. This way you will be prepared if this happens in school. And please talk about this with your mom. She went through this too and will totally understand and be able to help you out

Don't worry they are nothing. My older sister helped me with mine, there not that big of a deal but they can be scary. If you have an older sister they can be alot more helpful and easier to talk to. it depends...you could get it around 16 or earlier. it'll come, don't worry!! you just have to be patient. everyone is different, dont be worried that yours didnt come yet. most likely you will be like your mom but you could also get it earlier, too.

So my friend just e-mailed me cause she doesn't have a sister and she said she found a dark brown stain in her hygienic pantyliner. She says she's confused because it's not red. I don't know what to say because I don't have mine either! What can it be? She thinks it's an infection but she says it doesn't smell weird or itch

@bluefavorites Your 1st period isn't always red! When some girls get their first period, they get a brown stain. See if it lasts a few days & be sure to have pantyliners & a pad in your schoolbag. Also remember, that when you do get your 1st period, you may not get your next one the following month. Some
girls skip several mos. after their 1st period. In a year or so, this will
regulate & you'll find yourself getting your period monthly. The trick is to always be prepared w/supplies in your bag!

@wjakahla Don't be scared. Every girl goes through this and you'll be just fine! If you see some staining (brownish, yellowish, etc) in your panties, you should wear a thin pantyliner. Be sure to pack a little cosmetic case in your schoolbag with pantyliners, a pad or two, and a fresh pair of panties. This way you will be prepared if this happens in school. And please talk about this with your mom. She went through this too and will totally understand and be able to help you out

Don't worry they are nothing. My older sister helped me with mine, there not that big of a deal but they can be scary. If you have an older sister they can be alot more helpful and easier to talk to. I just went up to her one day and was like "Katie can I talk to you about something" it's as easy as that.

Day 1= some blood once a day
Day 2= some blood once a day and so on?

it depends...you could get it around 16 or earlier. it'll come, don't worry!! you just have to be patient. everyone is different, dont be worried that yours didnt come yet. most likely you will be like your mom but you could also get it earlier, too.

@Yobro102 hey i got mine when i was in 8th grade i was bummened but trust me i wanted my period to but then i found out it was well hell. you could get your period at any time look for signs like grumpy mood, cramps[ the worst] etc.

This is very normal. It can take a few years before your period regulates. It is a good idea to keep track of when you're having your period in a journal or calendar so you can see if a pattern develops - it's also a good health habit in general to do so. Because you may not always know when you are getting your period for a while, it is good to be prepared - keep the necessary pads and liners in your school bag (in a pretty cosmetic bag) or locker.

Don't worry! This is totally normal. Most girls don't start getting their period regularly just after they start. Give it some time. After a few periods (which may end up being a few months apart), your system will regulate. Just be prepared and keep pads and liners in your locker or backpack.

I hate my period I have had it since I was 13 and I am now 14. I have it right now and it is really heavy still will it lighten up? I never get any cramps or anything but I think I'm getting a cold cause I feel like I could be sick

Dont worry the majority of girls get used to having their periods (and it is really great that you are not experiencing cramps!) Just be sure to have the proper pads, etc. with you (put into a pretty cosmetic bag, etc. and carry in your school bag) and youll be just fine.
