I have a Conn Theater 642, SN 54406. Everything works on it - but I may have to sell it if I find an affordable Rodgers or Allen model with AGO pedalboard. Now I'm thinking I should just keep it!!!
@eusyram100 Near Fort Knox KY. There's a "sometimes" problem with pedals above middle C - they will sound like the note below. Other times - works okay. Has Min-o-Matic which works. I paid $2000 (which was probably way too much) to a piano/organ dealer back in about 1996.
Hey, i loved the theatre sound to the songs!..Very hearty Base!. I too have a conn, just i need help with what model mine is. It has the full-range Pedals, and 2 keyboard Set's. Now.. mine is both Solid State* and Vacume Tubed. Do you know any way to find or locate my Model Number?.. Also.. do you have any info on what type of Oil the Rotor and Tone Generator may need?. Thanks!
I believe on the back of the instrument there is a metal tag that has the serial number and model number on it. If not there, lift the cover (the horseshoe) and it should be someplace inside the instrument. As for oiling things, I'd let a professional do it, or you'll have such a mess!
one change is needed: The chord progression should be C///E7///A7///D7///G7///c... Not the A minor that you used. And Yes that's a 642 or 643. I had a 642 for about 24 years. Keep up the good work and hope you find a replacement instrument soon.
Skip: Thanks for your comments...I wish I'd had some actual lessons about how to play this style of music! Someday. I think I'm about to take a new job that will provide a good salary and a house and I'll be able to buy another instrument.
Nice job. 2 possible corrections: I believe the second song is called "Ebb Tide". I always thought a Conn 651 was a 3 manual organ. Could that have been a 640 or 650? Hope you find another instrument!
Oh, good catch. Indeed, it is "Ebb Tide". And you're right, though I did get that part right...this is a 642...it had some percussions that the 640 didn't. I do miss this instrument.
Thanks! Unfortunately, I can't post any more vids from this instrument as I don't own it anymore. No sheet music, really, just a fake book and listening to what other organists do. 5-foot-2 was my attempt at a Jesse Crawford style, and Deep Purple sounds sort of like the way that George Wright played it.
KY is just too far to come get it. Good luck though!

It sounds good but you need to work a little on timing and don't rush.

I would just adore a Conn. I have a Hammond but it isn't a theater organ.

Love the sound of the 651, and very nicely played! Hope you find another one soon, and post more vids of your playing.
