  • This line was once called 20-East Burnside from 1969 to 1982, and until 1982 it through-routed with 20-21st Avenue. From 1982-86, the line was renamed 20-Burnside-Stark but unlike today's version, the '82 incarnation served between NW 23rd & Westover on the westside, and as it went between Burnside and Stark/Washington Sts., it used 78th/80th rather than 102nd Ave.

The westside portion between NW 23rd and Beaverton Transit Center via St. Vincent Hospital was formerly part of #77-Beltline.

In late 1986, the MAX (Blue) Light Rail opened and Line 20 was split: the portion east of Gateway to Mt. Hood CC and Gresham TC was now served by then-new 26-Stark. On the westside, Line 20 inherited the portion of 77-Beltline between NW 23rd and Beaverton TC (the extension of 77-Beltline between Beaverton and Lake Oswego TCs is now part of Line 78-Beaverton-Lake Oswego).

In 2001, Lines 20 (then called just Burnside) and 26 were reunited and used the old name of 20-Burnside-Stark.
