I used to come here in the early 80s, it was fab, very cold, but I loved it. I wish you guys all the best, if I hadn't moved away I would be helping xxx
Why is it that public money is always available and readily wasted on projects meant to attract yet more tourists and the people who LIVE here and actually fund those projects with their taxes are not entitled to have a family-friendly, relatively inexpensive leisure site such as this restored for their use? Are any of the local councillors on board on this?
There are councillors on board but everyone is kowtowing to the great god mammon.
Remember the escalating cost of the spa? That was the brain child of the professionals, we are not professionals so we can't be trusted to handle things like this.
I tried to have a look at the place a few months ago and it was all boarded up. It's not an easy o access and get an impression of size and potential. Is the Trust's proposal downloadable on from the website?
The anti-vandal measures were taken by the council and I doubt if they will be removed until after the sale. The cottage has two rooms and a bathroom upstairs and the ground floor has a kitchen and one other room. None of the rooms are large. The other section was last used as a cafeteria but used to house the ladies' pool. Check the pictures in the Feasibility Study
I would love to see an open air pool for Bath. For all the people of Bath.
Visiting Cleveland Pools on the Open Day was wonderful, but it seemed like the heart was missing. It should be resounding to the sound of splashing and laughter. The health and social benefits of swimming are something to be encouraged and this is a wonderful place to do it.
Looking at the study though, you can't help feeling that it needs the bridge over the river to make it easily accessible to as many people as possible.
These pools were fabulous, I have many great memories of days there as a kid, come on council, lets get them up an running again.
