The zebra thing is just to show you which is right and which is left in this knot mess. This is better than other videos showing you a black belt being tied in the shadows where you cannot see a shit. It's better to show the knot with a white belt or with a combined one like this.

Maybe Black belt its hard to see on a black uniform and he used white. Also maybe the black stripes are to show that he has black belt :)

I take karate not tae kwon do. I have been to lots of olympic tae kwon do matches but i have never seen that kind of "zebra belt"
