Do you realise that your Basset's claws are VERY BADLY IN NEED OF TRIMMING BACK because they are far too long and will hurt him when he walks!
If you don't have some sharp 'secateur' type clippers, than take your lovely Basset to the vet or groomer to get done and if you do it yourself, don't cut the pinky quicks or they will bleed!
Have a look for videos on YouTube that tell you about Bassets' claws.

Beautiful! My parents just had an operation on one of their bassets to remove a large lipoma. I asked them how he was after the operation and they said he was sore, and kind of "out of it." I got to see him today and just seeing me helped him a lot. He climbed on me like he always did before. My parents said he was acting much more like himself after I came over.
That to me is just awesome.
P.S. That song always gets me, thank you and Bassets rock!

aww i got 2 basset hounds Bailey and Beecher. When u went to BHRG did u see a dog missing some of her ear? With red spots and Fat and white? her name was Peaches. She was ours till my mom and dad split up.
