I went on this ride . it was good , but suddenly it broke down close to the end , and the worst part of it , i was stuck in front of those statue heads , creepy as hell!  it felt like they were staring at me! X( . i had to look away and it was a good 15 mins ( or longer , i dont remember ) before the ride started moving again ...

thats what happened when i went on it. stopped right in front of them, they kept singing but when the announcements came on saying that the ride would start again in a moment. the heads stopped singing, but their mouths kept moving.

as a kid I was suprisingly fine with this ride. the only part that actual bothered me and still kind of does is the Bride in the attic with her beating heart.

It's too bad there's no way to actually walk through this ride because getting to look at the Ball Room dancing ghosts and the attic Bride a little closer would be amazing.

I was in LA at Disneyland nearly 21 years ago, in 1990, and I was just nine :D

I still remember the Haunted Mansion and that I didn't sleep for many days after the ride :D :D

The thing that scared me the most were the ghosts in the mirror at the end, because I was sitting so close to my father that I couldn't see myself in the mirror, ahahahaha

I can't wait my children are old enough to bring them there :)

I used to be absolutely terrified of this ride when I was little. I wouldn't even look at it when we were passing it. It's a really cool ride, though, I love the ballroom.

There's a great site called doombuggies. com that has tons of stuff, including the audio from the ride, I think.

As for the ghosts in the ballroom, they're not holograms. They're an effect known as Pepper's Ghost, and it's a Victorian stage technique that's over 150 years old. Look it up on the web if you want to see how it's done! It's pretty cool.
