Fantastic, we should have struck over bonfire night and smashed those scabs to pieces, be in a better position than we are now. As for all those people on here condemning socialists and commies, yeah we're back, live with it.
im sorry to talk the truth but these commies are doing exactly the opposite to what they say, those fire fighters are saving peoples life's and are like brothers to each other and the unions are dividing them scabs and that its sad rely sad.
hendabomb, if you do not know the facts then ask, that vehicle was not on a call, it is returning to southwark off the run, 2 hours after the strike had finished, if you want to believe papers and politicians then join the ranks of the foolish, or ask people that know and will happily explain the facts to you not the spin and lies in the press
That Firefighters should even consider striking on Bonfire Night is despicable, to say the least. Cynical and irresponsible doesn’t come near to describing their actions.
I’m amazed that Firefighters, who have such enormous respect from the general public, are quite prepared to let their dinosaur union bosses talk them into putting those very same people’s lives at risk.
Any deaths will be on their conscience. They should be ashamed of yourselves.
@ramsbottom4 Maybe buddy you should get your facts right at the end of the day - for you to use such despicable emotional blackmail such as what your saying is beyond belief !!!.
Yes the firefighters do an amazing job and I can say from 1st hand experience as I'm ex retained both at county level aswell as airport level the guys & ladies do a tough job - yes the union bosses are somewhat stubbourn but at the end of the day unless they make a stand etc then the government will walk all over them.
Hendabomb you should get your facts straight before you start talking rubbish. The strike ended at 6pm the scab pump was returning to southwark to park up for the night. The Fbu officals as granted by law were legally going to speak to them to ask why they were crossing a picket line. The scabs in the trucks started making offensive gestures and swearing at the crowd inflaming the situation. But if you check with the police there were no arrests
@redsonj An RMT flag is flying which would suggest the RMT union and/or its affiliated members are present.
If this is the case, the law is being broken as secondary picketing is illegal in this country. Of course, that doesn't bother a lot of the unions seeming they see all action as necessary in their partisan strike action.
That "scab vehicle" is attempting to put out a fire to potentially save someones life. If you can't see a problem with that you are criminally stupid.
Oh and those RMT/FBU scum in the video are clearly obstructing the (stand in) emergency services in the line of duty, an offence under the Emergency Workers (Obstruction) Act 2006. The penalty is a fine of £5000. Oh and there is a f*ck off RMT banner which is odd as secondary picketing and sympathy strike action is illegal in this country. So all in all..... I would say there were quite a few problems. Care to comment?
@hendabomb IT is illegal to hire agency workers to break a strike in this country. We are not subservient slaves. You might be so back off into whatever hole you came from
I think it should be noted that the crew were not attending an incident, the blues were not on and was after 18:00 which goes against what Mr Dobson has said is happening
That what everyone should do fight for their job and democracy. Firefighters I believe are fighting for everyone. Closing stations at night doesn't help anyone.
Hi there. I'm a producer for BBC London TV news and we are covering the fire strikes story today. We'd like to use your footage to illustrate part of our report. Would you mind if we use it? If you could just message back confirmation that would be much appreciated. Best wishes.
Hi, I'm a producer for BBC TV. Can we use your clip in yet another anti union, pro government one sided news article? We know you guys fund us through your TV license fee, but we'll always come down on the side of the ruling classes and government, because we're the BBC.
I'm over the moon to say that I've never paid my TV license fee for over 20 years now. I reckon you've spent over a £120 in letters to me now. Keep 'em coming. I'll start to pay when your quality of brodcasting goes up. .
I don't know what planet you're living on but the BBC is most definately not pro-Government at the moment. Its unions threatened to blackout the Tory party conference by striking, remember?

That scab vehicle is returning to its scab HQ after the strike........not on its way to a fire, so that ywould make you criminally stupid!

All I can see in this video is a scab vehicle attempting to drive through a picket line, and being resisted. What is the problem with that?

The fact that people's lives might depend on it responding to an emergency call?

@hendabomb Actually the vehicle was returning from an incident, not on its way to one.
