  • This is why they called him Black Cat because his natural athletic ability.

  • Bird knew he had to get rings while he could because he knew Jordan was the truth.

  • when white dudes still made the nba..

  • mj really is GOD

  • michael jordan did dis his rookie year r u kidding me dats crazy

  • Comment removed

  • RIP Dennis Johnson

  • this why they needed len bias suffered much r.i.p

  • Thanks for upload!!

  • Did you see the hangtime? 5:11

  • ahhahah at the end he says:jordans got 32,whats new....that rimes

  • hoopsencyclopedia why didn u write in the description i always enjoy your thoughts on the videos you upload cheers pls ulpoad more videos i always watch them

  • I remember Corzine, a good rebounder. Didn't he go to the Knicks on that Oakley-Cartwright trade?

  • What shoes was MJ wearing here?

  • @uberathlete red and black

  • thanks for the vid

  • Jordan clutch and pulling veteran moves as a rook.

  • Jordan leads the bulls in rebounds with 6.5 a game?

    wow...

  • Defense 101 courtesy of Your Airness.

  • WGN was broadcasting this game eh?

  • Man, jordan use to clutch every shot. What separates jordan is how good he finishes around the rim. Either banking, or silky smooth finger roll.

  • Hoops my friend you are bringing me back here rookie Jordan was already the real deal from day one and to think how much more game dude was gonna bring to the table lol

  • watching Jordan play (as a Rookie!!) was like watching a video game character on cheat mode! LOL

  • @williest1 ye and 1990 jordan would make the game explode! =p

  • ty for this christmas gift

  • @Hypebusta yeh, really i'd take a Rookie Jordan over Bird & Magic in '85. Neither of those two are giving you the defensive disruption Mike was.

  • Do you know who the announcers were? Johnny Kerr was color for WGN since 77 but it's clearly not him for this game.

  • Jordan was super athletic but he was also so fundamentally sound even then it's ridiculous.

  • I think this also dispells any notion that the refs made him greater then he was. I guarantee he got no foul calls in this game because there was no concept of how good Jordan would become. Yet he goes into Boston, beats Bird, Mchale, and Parish, toys with Dennis Johnson, and he was just a rookie.

Imagine Wall or Griffin going into LA and taking over a game to beat the Lakers, or going into Boston and taking over a game to beat the Celtics. It just isn't happening.

  • 3:02 sticky hands

  • I'd take Jordan as a Rookie over ANYone in the '85 League. Yep, that includes a prime Bird, Magic, McHale, King...

  • @Belcario yeah, because you already know that he becomes the greatest later in the future...

  • @Belcario Really? I think Bird was pretty clearly the best player in the world in 85 and 86. 87 was the first year where Jordan really hit his top gear.

  • @Hypebusta magic johnson should be in there too

  • this is so much better than today's games where players just put a lot of show

  • I know it sounds crazy...but I think MJ was UNDERrated....

  • He was so poised, and his game so smooth even as a rookie. The player you see in this video would be NO WORSE than the third best player in the league today - as a rookie. Think about that. Imagine if we saw a rookie come in today and instantly be top 2-3 in the league? Crazy.

  • @jordanlover23 yea, seems like Jordans jumpshot was just as good back then. Thats how Iverson was as a rookie: Top 3 in the league immediately

  • @jordanlover23 In a league where Bird and Magic were in their primes no less.

  • Damn, Jordan was skinny as a rookie. His shooting form was also noticeably different as a rookie compared to any other year, look at him shooting FTs here and compare it to a game from '87.

  • @defghik I think alot of Jordan fans noticed that, it seems in his earlier years he was pushing the ball towards the rim it kind of looked and felt forced, but later he seemed to have mastered the flick of the wrist which gave him much more control of the ball. A reporter or someone should ask him about that I'd like to know the real answer

  • Just a rookie, and the Boston fans are cheering for him in the player intros. You know he was something special just from that.

  • Nice Christmas gift for us, hoops!

  • 2:28 = blatant travel

  • @tupark82 At the 2:28 point Bird has the ball and there's no travel, blatant or otherwise. You want to see blatant traveling every play watch the bow-legged LeBron play.

  • Goat

  • thanks as usual!

  • Wow nice quality!

  • That was one of those Bird's shots on clutch situations that didn't went in,

  • May the Greatness of Michael Jordan bless you this holiday season!!

  • fuck kobe

  • He was just ahead of his time !!!! Considering how short memories can be in sports (as we in those comparisons) imagine how people would talk of Jordan if Kobe and LeBron would have been in the league before him...They would say he is like Kobe version 3.0 or something like that because his game is just so much better....!! His defensive awareness is simply unbelievable...I mean that's a ROOKIE we're talking about !!!!!

  • @triklops

yea this guy is simply a lot better for everything. much faster, more agile and stronger even as a rookie. already has enough moves to score big on any team at that time.

and all those stupid offical nba jordan video programs or sport channels are always promoting him as somewhat inadequate in certain aspects of the game when he started ( only focused on scoring with not enough defensive skill, and has no fadeaway or mid range game), which are not true.

  • Marry Christmas Michael Jordan lol =P

  • In today's game you can't rely on your rookie like this.

  • Comment removed

  • Most impressive

But what do you expect from Mike?

    :)

  • that was great christmas present. I love seeing old jordan and larrybird game. Larry's jumper was sick

  • this dispels the notion that jordan didn't develop a jump shot until his later years.

  • wow the Bulls won this game.........that's absurd lol I didn't know this.

  • merry jrue holiday

  • great to watch young jordan on christmas

  • What was the final score of that game? And how many did Bird, Parish and McHale get?

  • @flight23magic32

    Final score was Bulls 107-104.

Bird had 25 on 11-24 fg.

Parish had 26 on 10-20 fg,

McHale had 22 on 8-14 fg.

  • @hoopsencyclopedia Oh thanks man! And merry Christmas! God bless you in the name of Jesus so you can keep up the good work for us MJs fans! Amen! Be blessed!

  • @hoopsencyclopedia Im glad you showed the lineups to show stupid fans how weak MJs team was compared to Birds.

  • @hoopsencyclopedia they wouldnt need that if they had len bias such a tragic

  • @hoopsencyclopedia talk about big three

  • mj is just too crazy

  • 7:10 "mmm mmm mmm What's New!"

  • Comment removed

  • damn, Boston was one of the best (if not the best) teams in the NBA and they had to double team some Jordan guy at that time, come on he was a rookie!

There was something unusual about him form the beginning

  • is it me or does the defense look really bad?

  • @OoiBoy it is you...look at todays defense...is way worse

  • @migueltxo69 Yeah cuz of those stupid rules where if you just stare at a guy it's foul! Not to mention the 3 sec defensive rule! Please! Am I right man?

  • @flight23magic32 fucking true man

  • @migueltxo69 I think that hand-checking and the absence of the 3 secs rule separates the men from the boys!

  • @flight23magic32 that jordan today would score 40 points a game without any effort!

  • @migueltxo69 40 at least baby! He would kick butts and take names in the process! I mean if he avg 37 with handchecking and with bigs patolling the lane imagine what he would do in today's watered down league! Jeez, it's so frigging scary just to think about it that it gives me the chills meanwhile I'm writing this!

  • @flight23magic32 amen!

  • @greenguy1687 It's just Jordan dominated against the likes of Magic (I happen to be a huge fan of his too), Bird, Isiah etc and guys like Ewing (that sucks cuz I happen to be a Knicks fan!), Barkley, Stock, Malone, Kemp, Reggie and Nique never won a championship cuz they had the misfortune of playing in the same era with HIS AIRNESS!

  • i thought that was kevin durant

  • @TheMaku damn durant wasn't even born yet lol!

  • thanks for the rare game!!

I particularly like that juke fakes at 4:41, so many little moves in a short amount of time to deceive his defender. look how wide his legs were spreaded and how far that dude is standing in front of him, in less than half a second he just blows him by with ease. his first step is no doubt the quickest in the history.

and another example to show how he already had his mid range game from day 1.

  • omg 5:35

    how does it go in?

  • is Jordan a rookie here ... he play at a high level game and against the celtics pride ... w0w ...

  • The G.O.A.T MJ is the best!

  • rare

  • awesome game from mj's younger years.
