The guy who posted a video of these drag times said that he hit the rev limiter, closing the throttle plate, which caused the nitrous to pressurize the intake hose and it just popped off the TB, if I understand correctly.
@Shrike2415 between the intake and heads will be imrc plates. those open and close to improve torque. again im not too sure about the throttle by wire engines, this is based on what i know about 2v engines. the imrc plates were introduced mainly in the 3v engines (were some 4v engines that had then prior). imrc plates can be deleted. some guys have even used the gutted plates with JB weld filling all the holes where the shaft went thru.
Lol, Why dont you check my vids then and see what I roll in... If your rolling in a 02 GT A4 hahaha, Im pretty sure I put down 3x the power your car does on a hot day...
@Breze84 I hate you man(envious or jealous).. Gotta love the Goats. Yet, if this guy ever gets close to you in power with an 02 gt mustang( if thats the car you are talking about) he is going to have a mad power to weight advantage on you. 3,700lb vs a 3,200lb is no bueno.
True but those 2V need big mods including FI to achieve the same kind of power, Not bragging or anything just saying... Ive got a buddy who owns a 08 GT with Full exhaust Longtubes all the way back, O/R mids, Mac exhaust, FRPP cams, Short throw, CAI, 4.10's ect ect and he makes 317/330... I made more power stock so imagine how many mods a 02 would need
@Breze84 Im assuming this is WHP. I own an 02 GT I'm thinking of doing the old 5.0 swap and a at first I was going aluminum ds, but definitely going carbon fiber now
@Breze84 Yeah, I know i know. The old 5.0 motors get cheap power, but they drop off on their powerband quicker than the mod motors. MOd motors rev higher, but are more expensive. I'd be happy if someone sold me Cobra motor N/A(mach 1) without me having to pay them for shipping or traveling to get it. lol
Yes, this is Evolution Performance. They also have a video of this up and explain what happened: "Don't worry, the car is fine. Hit the rev limiter, which closes the throttle. The nitrous pressurized in the air intake tube and popped off the silicone connector."

You're lucky that 100 shot of NOS didn't blow the welds on the intake.

@Shrike2415 rev limiter doesnt close the throttle plate, it cuts off fuel and spart via coils and injectors

@oilfield666 Just quoting the explanation the original video gave.

Moral of the story, Don't use nitrous no matter how much faster you want to go.

I'm pretty sure it was just a backfire the other video i posted of it making a full pass was taken after this one.
JCamaro84z 1 year ago
If it did lunch the motor at least they can go in and fully forge the thing. :)
