I love how in the comments of every great climbing video, someone has to bring up dan osman. decent climber yes, but not a world renouned boulderer or sport climber. period.
haha ok it might not be that hard for some people. i was kidding, if i saw that line and sent it in 92 i wouldn't be posting on this thread id contact the person who wrote the guide book. i wish like hell i could send a v12 thatd be pretty sweet, especially a classic like this one, but truth be told i've been climbing just over a year and get shutdown by most v5/6...
yeh being the only person in the world who can climb completely featureless dead overhung walls is a lot of responsibility sometimes. that is not to abuse my power
same experience here, exactly. chris is a super-nice guy. got to talk with him at the spot a few months ago. haven't met dave graham yet but he seems really mellow and down-to-earth in various vids of him.
why does everyone argue about who's better, chris or dave? they're teammates, and they respect each other. they push each other in a positive way, and have brought climbing to a whole new level.
the sit was fa'ed by Tony Lamiche who gave it the grade 8B (V13), but everyone else who has done it (Dave Graham, Daniel Woods, Paul Robinson, Sean McColl, and Shawn Diamond... i think thats all?) have called it 8B+ (V14)
Amazing climb. I was there when Julien Nadiras and Iker Pou did the early ascents. Cool line. I misread the caption though & the first time I saw it I was thinking damn Sharma looks skinny in this vid ... wrong ! lol ... I'm building a social news site for climbers ... Google for 'peakr' to check it out & register.
the direct Assis version straight up the face makes this version look like nothing !

It is great to see this problem with no chalk, looking all fresh and brand new. Now it is one of the most popular and most climbed problems around.

Serious? You onsighted the Mandala in 92?!! You were probably the best boulderer in the world at the time then. . . .
jkdclayson 2 years ago
haha yes and i still am, fred looks up to me... he actually told me that i am his hero.
1gnoramus 2 years ago
Crazy. I bet you don't even need holds! You probably just punch your iron pinky into the rock and climb that way. Ha!
