  • are black poodles usually more curly than the cream and white ones?

  • Which clipper brand are you using? Do you have any tips for an Irish Setter? I need a clipper/attachment for the head/ears/neck.. you do a great job. Would you come and trim my dogs? LOL..

  • hey be careful with his balls!

  • I have a poodle that looks a lot like that one right there. The problem is that she won't let me groom her. She hates the clipper and I can never trim her correctly- or trim her how I want it lol- and she too ticklish so I cant trim the hair on her paws either.... :(

  • omg omg omg....she looks exactly like my poodle.....i love her soooooo much :)

  • For some reason I could only hear music not what was being said? But my vet told me to do the glands same way you did..not internal anything so disagree with person that said it should be done internally..leave internal to the vets

  • Loved watching the video....however..never express anal glands externally (per my Veterinarian & learning the hard way) it causes scarring of the opening (of the glands) which can cause them to scar closed ! They should only be expressed internally ...not fun but correct way to do this procedure....Just thought I'd share .....I'm currently owned by 6 Standards of which all but one were rescues....

  • Moser Arco

    Lovely all round clipper!

  • They Are Mosers! (the clippers)

  • She is beautiful. I lost my little poodle last week and I am heartbroken. I will love again and I know my little friend would want that. I had 6 and a half great years with him. I miss him so much.

  • pretty dog

  • I was given a 4 yr old toy poodle once because he was no longer wanted. He was rarely let out of his pen, not socialized, and never properly groomed. But he was still the sweetest dog. Got him all straightened out (socially) and tried to groom him myself. He LOVED the attention but couldn't stand the clippers around his face.

I had to take him to a groomer to get him done. And he did great. Such a great breed!

  • Can I know the brand of your razor?

  • I don't know what brand she is using but I have a Laube which I brought home from the stable. We love Laube for the horses and the dogs. Really great clippers.

  • Oh--by the way, Standard Poodles are notorious for their patience, calmness, and often even stock-stillness during grooming. Start them young, and they'll actually like it.

    Great video.

  • Looks just like my poodle. Somebody asked if poodles are a lot of work-- only as much work as you want it to be. We just groom our poodle with a very short clip all over (she loves the woods), with clean face, uncut ears, pom tail, and shortish top knot. That way she is cooler (else she pants nonstop) and it's much longer between groomings. You can always do a clean face, ear plucking, and clean feet one day, and then finish up the body the next day. Short hair = no mats! Keep 'em combed.

  • what kind of clipper is that ?

  • Don't know her clipper but we use Laube on our dogs and our horses. Laube's are really great clippers. We have other brands but we fight over the Laubes!

  • wow! i love u grooming the poodle instead of others, somes are like so painful.. you are doing great!

  • I really want a standard poodle!

    Are they alot of work?

  • The coat needs attention, but if you like, you can just groom your poodle to home cut and in my mind that does not nees so much work. You must brush it regurarly, but it's easy to keep clean and straight. Also, continental clip is quite an easy coat too to keep up too, if you like to keep your poodle in showcut. Poodles need a lot of brainwork and they love to move. If you ask me, that's the hardest part of owning a poodle. And also the main reason I so love pooles ;).

  • We have 3 all from FL Poodle Rescue. Keep them short. They don't get dirty fast and they don't smell when wet! Great with children, other dogs, horses, people, AND they are protective. LOVE the standards. Used to have Dobermans and Australian Shepherds...we like the no shedding better!

  • That's my beautiful poodle Nica being groomed and I am amazed at how cooperative she is! I'm doubly amazed that you continue to be one of her all-time favorite people and loves to visit you even tho she KNOWS what she's going to have to deal with! Thanks for sharing....

  • yay - Nica's a star! Thanks for letting her be in our shoot.

  • Wow..I am so impressed. I really love the Poodle! Great video. Please more.

  • I wish you would have shown the before and after complete photo! Loved the video though. My cockapoo also hates having his ears and feet done, but he's getting better.

  • I loved my black standard so much. we lost her to brain cancer/seizures the last day of February...life's just not the same without her

  • That was great!

  • what are those shears????? so great! thanks for this video!

  • What kind of clipper is that?? I NEED ONE!!! Vivian you are awesome!! I just love our new poodle and I am still learning how to correctly cut him. He is only 15 weeks old and is a standard blue/silver. This video helps and the music is great! go girl!!

  • One of my favorite video's showing a well behaved poodle and a very precise groomer who seems to love that dog!

  • they are supposed to be great with allergies. are they?

  • What a good dog!! My poodle won't let you near her feet let alone her ears. We leave it to the proper groomers, but I do wish they were as good as you: she often comes back a bit lopsided!

  • stand in the room while the 'proper' do their job....u'r dog is smarter tthan u are for leaving him with them...

  • what was on the cotton ball when u put it in his ear?

  • Wasn't me (I'm the camerawoman) but it was an ear cleaner with a drying agent. Cotton ball does not have to be soaking wet with the solution.

  • no doubt

  • dogs that are good for grooming are usually the ones that are started really young. like around 8 or 10 weeks of age.

  • Yes, but any dog can be conditioned to love grooming - it ain't rocket science. Teaching a dog to look forward to grooming is certainly important and the earlier that starts, the better - but it can be done at any age.

Hiring a groomer who rewards your dog for good behavior is a good first step, too.

  • It's amazing how poodles will just let you groom them without a wrestling match.

  • Loved it! What a beautiful SP. The video was great and I sure wish this was my groomer.

  • thanks for sharing:)
