lol i was in camping last year when this attacked my little brother . i was 5 yrs old and we did not saw it comming. the duck start biting my brother and my brother just kick it and say "whats that ugly ting?" and the duck turn itself and start bitting my brother again xD !! my brother kick it and chase him like "you wont get away you little bitch" it was so funny im even laughing right now. :)
Looks like somebody clipped his flight feathers to keep him from flying. His behavior is probably due to imprinting on humans as a duckling. He sees you as a male competitor and since its mating season he's challenging you. He already asked you politely for awhile to leave his territory - now its beatdown time punk!
@Chuck1Joe Well I'm not going to tell you exactly where I live, other than it was in southern pennsylvania. These ducks are much more common down south near texas and in mexico tho.

that is the result of two mixed breeds or an inbreed duck
it sounds strange but the same thing happens with rabbits if a father rabbit breeds with a daughter rabbit the results of the offspring are deformities the same goes with other animals
His ancestors would have been proud =)

Must be a lost duck, he does seem to have something wrong with him. Your profile says Greencastle, near Tennessee?
