@Arperture2008 most felons are not black. check FBI crime stats from 2008 you will find that 60% of rapes, 60% assults, 73% arson 73% vandalism 86% DWI, 70% offenses against family and children. 83% drunkeness, 60% drugs are whites
@95tahoe1 Really? You must live in some rural country full of whites. DWI is not a felony offense BTW, most drug and paraphernalia charges bring misdemeanor possession charges not felony offense, have you ever been in a court room? Most judges will send black dudes to jail for 10+ years for having cocaine. White people don't get as long sentences. You need to send me a link to these stats using youtube personal messages. I'm talking about felonies received not crimes committed...
@Arperture2008 thats due to the sentenceing guideline for powder cocaine versus crack cocaine. The criminal justice is not about justice its about conviction rates. No DA will ever tell you that they sent someone they knew was innocent to jail. they will tell yo they had their day in court. If your take a plea bargin to a lesser offense then its a conviction. No Elected DA runs for office by saying how many people were wrongly charged but plea out to a lesser offense
@95tahoe1 The term felony disenfranchisement (or, more specifically, felony voting disenfranchisement ) refers to the denial of the right to vote to incarcerated persons and released ex-offenders who were convicted of certain classified crimes, though not necessarily felonies. This practice has been particularly harmful to racial minorities, who have had the ability to exercise their political clout compromised.
@95tahoe1 Racial minorities are disproportionately denied the right to vote by felony disenfranchisement legislation. More than a third of those disenfranchised are African-American men. It is estimated that 1,400,000 African-American men (or about 13% of African-American men) have been denied the right to vote by felony disenfranchisement legislation. Booya!!!
@95tahoe1 It is generally believed that this felony demographic tends to lean more to the liberal left than to the conservative right politically. Several critical elections, including the 2000 presidential election, are believed to have been effected by the exclusion of ex-offenders from the electoral process. In each of these circumstances, it is alleged that if liberal-leaning ex-offenders had been permitted to vote, then the more conservative candidate would have lost the election........
Most felons are black.. So how come no one is screaming racism? Like they are screaming racism about Arizona's Immigration Reform..
