i have this game and i am running an nvidia geforce GTX 520 with 2 gigs dedicated memory 2 gigs ram and core 2 duo 2.93 so a 5.8 ghz processor and the game is smooth at full graphics.

Just to correct you there, two cores at 2.93GHz absolutely doesn't equal one at 5.8GHz.

I ran this on a P4 3.2Ghz - 1.25GB - Nvidia Geforce 7600GT but on low graphics, of course (just for enough smoothness but even this... you know (it's quite demanding on graphics)). I tried to tweak config files, but didn't help much.

I post this just to help people figure it out with their systems.

I'm planning to give it a try on a P4 2.4Ghz someday, as my 3.2 died. If I remember this, I'll post how bad it runs ;)

@avidlurkviewer I played it on my current 2.4 and well, not much difference. It has more frame rate drops but, with no action, was 20-30 fps. With action, about 10-15, but not ever. (For action I mean combat)

Well, you could probably run it (there is a video here on YT of people playing Mirrors Edge with the 7300), but only on the absolutely lowest settings, and with a low resolution.

I had a VERY similar system to this, except it was an Athlon 2600+ MOBILE processor. Those things overclock like CRAZY! I had it running just shy of 2.7 GHz, almost a full 1 GHz overclock on AIR COOLING. Coupled with DDR500 (yes 500), & a Radeon X1600 512MB that was HELLA overclocked with an aftermarket copper heatsink modded to fit it, I could easily get 30-40 FPS in CRYSIS on mostly HIGH Settings. When benchmarked, the Athlon was on par with a 4GHz P4. Those things ROCKED for their time.

The glitch at the end happened because your computer was too slow to load the game. You just have to wait until everything loads correctly.

Oh, and CPU is below minimum system requirements.

Your system has lower specs than the minimum requirements. It's the system's fault that you are playing badly. You need very smooth FPS for that game.

You need an upgrade seriously. I bet the game can't support your card that's why it is crashing. If buying a new gpu ain't an option and you're desperate to play the game update your graphics drivers it can be downloaded at nvidia website.

Just to make things clear the old PCI bus or the new PCI express bus? If it's the old PCI then a sparkle Geforce 9500gt will do. If it's the new PCI express bus then the Radeon 4670 or the Geforce 9600gt is enough. If you really have the old PCI bus then I seriously recommend a motherboard upgrade that has PCI express bus included. If you plan to play games like these you really have to keep up with the latest technology. It doesn't have to be expensive either, just new and powerful enough.

Can you tell me what driver version you used to get it working? The omega drivers didn't fix it for me, and i've tried a few old versions of the normal drivers which didn't work.

My drivers are all a big mess, to get anything to work on my computer I have to install catalyst (some old version from ~2006) and then just install omega drivers on top of them, then top it off with only the driver-file from the latest release from ATI. Dunno why I have to do that but otherwise most of the games I play simply restart my computer randomly. Dunno exactly what your problem is though.

I've got nearly the same specs, but I've got an Athlon 2800 and 1.25gigs of ram.

Unfortunately, the game crashes when loading. Same for COD4, HL2.

I used to have the same problem, turns out it was because of the graphics-card drivers. I had to go back to an older version/use omega drivers. As for Mirror's Edge, get the latest patch, it fixed a few things for me.
