youre a good photographer but your not a good editor. no offense. but "we" (graphical designer) hate when the photographer ruin the pictures with bad editing
@andykbh thats your opinion on what is ruining the image. I wouldnt let someone else edit certain images of mine because that is part of my style, just like if i were in the darkroom developing my on images.
Everyone has their own style, that's what makes one unique from another. You may never make every single person happy, but most are appreciating your work. Keep up the awesomeness. =)
I really like Jared, but I don't think he's a strong enough photographer/editor "yet". I feel like he's still finding himself in photography, and he continues to get better throughout time. I don't think anythings wrong with that though. Keep it up bro!
@JanErikEdvartsen I understand it takes a lot of time. But they could do it atleast once. Really helpful with these LR edits. But the edit loses its point a bit when they make these excuses: "normally i would make this and this in PS"
@MrOutlawDave Jared and I can speak candidly with each other and both appreciate how the other does their edits. He's come down on my edit's too and I welcome his critique.
@MrOutlawDave i dont take him as slamming at all, i think he has a lot of positive stuff to say. The thing with editing is we all have a different style and its good to learn from each other.
Jared, i have a tip, you should make a chart or something to show where to submit which photos, whether it be email or on the website, or raw files or edited raw files. I always want to participate but i have no idea where to start when looking where to submit all the different photos.
I too have an uncorrectable vision problem (very poor color vision) and I was wondering if you know of a way in LR3 or some other program to compensate for this problem? It really affects my portrait edits more than anything else. My skin tones are horrible and I hate going B&W for most portraits. This sounds crazy but I like color. Color just doesn't like me. Is there a trustable program for such a problem? Pratice wont help my stituation. Thanks!
Editing is very hard to get above average standard and I think it requires you to study books about photoshop a great deal before you can get very good results time after time.
@SuperMangn It doesn't require to study books at all, it sure helps but it isn't necessary. There are enough free tutorials on the internet for you to learn, but the best learning tool is trial and error
@killer0178 I find that free tutorials are often done by people who are average editors or worse. I have seen highly skilled editors do free tutorials but they mostly have their own secret presets that they never share with anyone or even worse in the case of some people I know in Canada who sell their presets.
@SuperMangn That's true but there are also famous photographers that give free tips in how they edit their photos. For example Greg Gorman has a free tutorial in how he makes he's b&w pictures in photoshop
@killer0178 Thanks I will look him up, black and white is very popular in the UK and it is not uncommon to see many b+w photos on an average family wall over this side of the pond...
Jared match the color, highlights, is almost exact the same edit that i had i mind when i started, Adams match the skin and eye also almost exact the same edit that i had i mind when i started.
Wow! A mix between your's and Adam's Color shots would be amazing! The deep saturated purple, slightly brightened face and highlights in the hair on your edit, mixed with the smooth face and green eye on Adam's edit!
what is the name of the program that you are using?

@Mannertheman It's for time's sake. Would take too long to do it in Photoshop for these kinds of quick edits.
