I think it's his star quality. He has the simmering intensity of about 20 - 30 people put together. Underneath a natural sort of laid back friendliness and striking good looks. It's a heck of a combination.

But there's a sort of cover over the top that blends it together so it can get you before you've realised it. IMO anyway.

I knew a guy once who had those kind of eyes. I didn't fancy him but occasionally he'd look at you, and it was honestly like you'd been hit with a thunderbolt. Flash, stab, get breath back, where did that come from. Pretty much everyone noticed it.

Pretty handy asset for a hearthrob.

(and I honestly didn't have a thing for him.) He also had light coloured eyes that were changeable like JLs. They crackled.

I met him last Sunday after his Hamlet show at the Wyndham's theatre in London. He offered a great performance in the leading role and he was very kind and patient (my camera didn't work but once I called him back he did come to take a picture!) with all the people waiting for him at the sortie des artistes, though he was evidently tired. I suggest to everybody to find a ticket. It is a performance you must see.
