Funny, my great great uncle was in the House of Lords, and he happened to have once prominently complained of the American bastardisation of the English language with terms like hospitalising and burglarising (not that that particular clanger has penetrated British vernacular, thank god) so he wouldn't have been too impressed if Reggie Hunter were to accede to the Upper House, bastardising his billiards with American pool!
