this is one of the most beautiful films ever made, and is by far my favorite. it's the only movie that's ever made me cry. jodelle had me sobbin like a baby. if anyone says something bad about it it's because they lack the imaginative capacity to handle it, and are weighed down by an ego too heavy and proud to be shattered for a few hours to delve back into the magic of childhood, to take a step away from hollywood bullshit. oh well, fuck 'em, more for us. thank you terry gilliam. <3

This movie is so fucked up. Terry Gilliam's cinematography is always so intense, though. This movie, and fear and loathing in las vegas are two of the trippiest LOOKING movies I've ever seen. Plus, for some reason, I always laugh when Jeff Bridges is about to check out and he says "Danish folk... greet the may sunrise." I realize it's a fucked up portrait of a family, but the line makes me laugh for some reason. Every time.
