  • Blues!!!...great Blues!!!

  • I like this - even though I can't understand one word! I'm just an ignorant American! :) Thanks for the translation, Andipode.

  • In the lyrics the word horn which means (french) horn is used instead of (blues) harp. In German the blues harp or harmonica is called the Mundharmonika or just Mundi (sl.). The (angel's) harp is called Harfe.

  • Danke !!!Das ist eine alte Ostband... this is great oldband from eastgermany...sorry...my englich is not god...smile...

  • ... Please do not ask me why he wanted to be left alone I could not ask him, I just got the death certificate Al, boy, where might you be? Al Wilson, where might you be? Al Wilson, Al Wilson Where might you be? I know heaven is not the place for you to go because Saint Peter coughs up angel's harps* but no horns* Boogie Woogie is hell, it is pain for the guards of heaven but nevertheless I hope, Al, heaven is the place where you went
  • Mama Wilson don't be angry Mama Wilson He blew the Boogie in our souls Mama Wilson - good ol' Ma Mama Wilson - good ol' Ma Leave the funeral march Listen to his Boogie - then Al is near When Al grew up he did not stay at home he drew with his hot bands beyond the city gates His picture was in the newspaper, I stared at it for quite a while the face was full of scars, he trusted some woman He went into the forest, played the boogie all alone the boday lay in the moss, his head on a stone
  • Tell me about Alan - and his black pain Waves of grave ivy cover his remaines Mama Wilson - where might Al be today? Mama Wilson - good ol' Ma (2x) When I heard Alan at night, I did not fall asleep A man who blows the horn* like that is unlikely human Mama Wilson unlikely human When Al was still young, he moved out of town and he played with the black boys because he could not stand the whites anymore He hated white waltz and marching bands. Red with anger he blew Boogie Woogie in his horn*.
  • This is one of Engerling's best known songs. Engerling was (and still is) one of the best and most famous blues band from East Germany. I tried a translation of the lyrics as requested. Some lines turned out to be rather difficult to translate. See the annotations.

    Intro:

Al Wilson was a blues singer and played harp. Al Wilson is dead. In our blues his mother tells about his life.

Mama Wilson - good ol' Ma

Mama Wilson - good ol' Ma

    ...

  • Thank you Andipode, for all the great work you have done. I really appreciate it.

    Thanks again :-)

  • The text in English PLEASE.......

  • thanks for the tribute--i'm alan's half-sister, we shared the same mother. wish he was still with us. thanks again; lisa

  • I read Alan had an older sister named Darrell. Do you know her or of her? Also, is your mother still living? Just curious. Thanks.

  • yes, darrell and alan were both children of my mom, shirley (maiden name brigham) and jack wilson when they were married. after they divorced, jack had 3 more children with his second wife, barbara, and my mom had 3 more with my dad (me and my 2 sisters. so alan had a total of 1 whole and 6 half siblings. he and darrel lived with their dad and barbara, along with my mothers grandmother.

  • Can you tell us something about him, what was he like?:)

  • lisal I worked with speedy dad lol and dave 20 yrs ago then just last night thru in an old woodstock dvd as im looking at the cover i was astonished to see dave on the cover then it clicked i remembered hearing canned heat on the job one day and dave saying thats my brother so after 20 yrs i called dave same phone # lol we talk long and reminised told me dad had passed so igo online to read about alan my god the tears just fell as most geniuses have a sensitivity that clashes with this world DW
