  • Blood makes noise?

Not a problem, dear- drink this tea.

It's scullcap, nettles and a touch of ginko.

    Tastes evil, doesn't it?

  • never get enough of it.i just can´t.

  • Christine Aguilera's next cover song?

  • Umm, Vevo hey it's 2012, stereo has been around for a few decades, thanks.

  • I love this song, and the video is awesome, good job Suzanne!

  • damn,she´s hot.

  • I wish this song was longer. This song is way too short. <3 this song, words cannot describe.

  • Got here from Blindsight.

  • Fuck I used to be stoned listening to this song. There is no sound system that goes loud enough to compliment this song when you're wasted.

  • @BonesTheCat Oh there is but the speakers themselves cost £20,000 each. I knew someone with that system, you felt your fillings shake when this was played. It was mindblowing,

  • it was made in '92 for christs sake! what do you expect? Avatar?

  • I like this song very much, but I can't say that about the video. Suzanne's face is overexposed and coulour scheme is tasteless.

  • @janahofberga "Over exposed and coulour scheme is tasteless" Really? There isn't a thing wrong with this video. This was made when the art of video making was still an art. No one hardly makes conceptual videos anymore. It's always some conceited artist gyrating in front with a "dance crew" in the back. Same old rehash, artist after artist [Lady Gaga, Beyonce, to name a couple]. Borrrrring!!!!

  • @lsanders1969 I'm not saying anything about the concept, but they way it's shown.

  • Not that it really matters, since I always liked her music, but I had no idea how strikingly beautiful Suzanne Vega really was until I saw this video.

  • totally the Master's theme song!

Doctor who!, seriously it just fits so freakin perfect!

  • SUZANNE VEGA THE FOLK SINGER IS YOUR COUSIN?!

  • Oh go han mhaith ar fad! Maith an cailin Suzanne! :)

  • @POINTTALKERS It would only take 3 decades for her to improve? okay I will listen to her willing in that time frame again, if she still in the showbiz and see if she has, as for Suzanne what is your favorite album from her so far?

  • Just like the producer was Marylin Manson...

  • i would totally do this at karaoke if they ever had it :-P Thumbs up if you know what this is from: "Blood? did she say blood? yah... it wasn't very cool though"

  • @pessimystica Hey, it's that Luka chick!

  • @furryisthenewedgy

Huh huh! Huh huh! Huh huh! Huh huh!

    You said Luka!

  • Tinnitus...

  • The three people who thumbed this down have never really experienced fear, and therefore have no idea what the song is about.

  • f***ing class!

  • typical early 90s video with copious amounts of sprockets. I bought this cd btw.

  • suzzanne makes noise too.i missed this song.

  • It took us 3 years back in the day to find speakers loud enough to reach what we believed this song was capable of with the use of drugs. Got there though.

  • love the song, not so much the music video

  • @Alex123McCarthy agreed. Pretty cliche and derivative even for the era, but I'm guessing the record label was not doing a lot to back and promote this album, so the budget must have been next to nothing.

  • So this is what its like in polish school....

  • She has a social conscience. She's not just singing about herself. She's trying to give a message in the kindest way.To be aware .Mindful. That's all.

  • To skip comercial:

    0:00

  • One of my all time faves from an all time fave.

  • I walk up the stairs like this when I'm going to the bedroom to make the nookie...

  • Her songs are just as good now as when they were recorded.

    Great music is timeless.

  • In a strange way, I feel this song has a DEVO quality to it, which is not in any way, shape, or form a criticism.

  • @anthonisaac it really does

  • This is terrible

  • @StephanAltena that just shows that you have no taste.

  • Brilliant.

  • this song, and most others by her, are just brilliant.

so much "music" out there is hot air but get all the attention while gems like this are ignored. sad.

  • Comment removed

  • who has the idocy of miley to hit the dislike button?

  • That Bass line is sick, just like "Michelle" by The Beatles it makes the song.

  • completely under-rated, under-mentioned song-writer who deserves to be considered in leagues of the best western song-writers of recent years.

  • @crackfarm76 I agree, i was very young when this was out but i still remember liking it, i think it just went over most peoples heads at the time though.

  • @colemann76 yeah, i think maybe because it's so catchy it just gets lumped into an amorphous "pop" category...but i think it's just hands-down a well written song:)

  • She's a man I hope you know that.

  • this song's mood is familiar to Pulsatron by Siobhan Fahey

  • wonderful. i know i post that like every few months, but its true!

  • Great to run too, Just do IT..

  • these VEVO PLAYERS suck ass. i wont watch anything with it, i just hit back and move on.

  • these VEVO PLAYERS suck ass. i wont watch anything with it. grrr

  • Is that a keyboard or a guitar in the background at 1:27? It really gives me goosebumps, those background notes, just there, like a frame for the rest of the song. Awesome, love this. And Suzanne is beautiful in it.

  • i believe if I remember right this song was about someone with HIV.

  • @bt1271 "So many people have told me that that I'm starting to think it's true myself. But that wasn't what I was thinking of at all. I wasn't thinking of AIDS at all. But a few people have told me, including AIDS workers, that the song and the album really hit them in a personal way because of their work with AIDS, but it is not what I was thinking of. It's one of those things where you write something that is personal to yourself and it hits a nerve in a way that you don't expect."

  • "Song of Sand" (from this album) is an absoute gem.

  • For the last time:

As I click on a link to watch a video clip I do not want to see, hear, or read about any ******** ******* credit cards or whatever products you're currently pushing.

We do not want to be bothered with commercials, banners, pop-ups or whatever other forms of publicity you concoct up.

You already annoy people with constant publicity on television, to the point where they actually lose track of what they were watching in the first place!

    Stop annoying people here.

  • @LunaSeaSane Who are you talking to exaclty? What is ranting to the viewers going to do?

We live in a commercial time, money makes things happen. If you're not paying out of pocket, you're paying with your time/attention. That's just how things work.

  • No. That's how the financial world caused things to work. If it lacks the creativity to come up with a world that is not solely based on debt, that is just too bad.

By "rant" I take it you mean "threatning topics"?

The only advertisement I want to watch is this music video. Having marketing professionals corner me at every second with extra ads is not my idea of free choice.

You may opt to live in a suit & tie, status fantasia but that is your choice. Just do not force that on me.

  • @LunaSeaSane Unfortunatly socialism doesn't work. So you are left with capitalism. Youtube must either make money, or close down.

They aren't making money off the videos, and not charging a subscription fee. No ads means you'll be paying to keep the site alive.

A rant is an agressive monologue. The word describes the manner of speach, not the topic.

I'm a mechanic and a pragmatist. I wear jeans and a t-shirt; literally and figuratively speeking.

    I'm also a f***ing smartass... : )

  • The rant explanation was a tad "deck" ; ) Hey, I'm making sandwiches starting wednesday.

If you're a pragmatist, why not act with the planet's best interests at heart? A better future for you and future generations. It doesen't get any more pragmatic than that. I enjoy solutions myself without assuming every solution I conjure is forcefully the best.

Politics? Get the idea, bores me. Why?

It's cutting deals, except presented in a much more intricate way.

Jeans? Take a picture and prove it.

  • @LunaSeaSane Like you, politics bores me. I also have no desire to cahnge how our economy works. I'm more interested in why I can't seem to stop the oil leak comming from my MR2's distributor. Plus, I have no real gripe with the current system.

As for the jeans, there are 3 videos in my "channel" of me tinkering with one of my cars. While it may not show the jeans, I'm clearly not wearing a suit. :P

    Cheers!

  • It's strange - the video has an entire vocal track missing . . . there are 2 played at the same time, only 1 trhough the megaphone. This only has the megaphone track (so the lipsync is off . . . . )

  • Britney Spears and Miley Cirius can kiss ass compare to this Songtress.

  • @wolfmother8719 100% agree with you! Miss the talent of years gone by!

  • @TheSami1973,

what do you mean, talent of years gone by? Suzanne Vega is still composing, writing, and performing! She's with Blue Note Records, if I'm not mistaken.

  • Maybe it's Tinnitus , Suzanne

  • The bassline is what makes this track, I remember this track from when I was around 7 years old:D I thank my brothers and sisters for liking good music.

  • 99.9 f° is her best album. love this song, it's so not suzanne vega.

  • @vuurvos11 this is so not like her other stuff..true..but i'll take the Solitude Standing album anyday over 99.9 f...

  • Fun video....trippy as hell!

  • great song get the album

  • what is it about the necklace? she wears the same in liverpool and some other video

  • @ MinaFem

That's the necklace she wears on several pictures on the album 99.9 F. They're all from the same album. Funny enough, when I first listened to Suzanne I immediately thought that she was a poet with poignant lyrics. Sharp as a blade if you like. I'm not saying this is the meaning but I always thought of it that way. You always have to think about her lyrics but when you do you cut yourself. So the blood that follows is your own...your own special interpretation based on your own life.

  • @MinaFem The knife pendant was part of her look for the album and promotion. There was a note about it in the sleeve I remember. I think it was definately deliberate - and part of her styling . . .

  • Not only did Suzanne Vega make a good song with this track the fusion of sound ambience and studio technology is absoutely incredible.

The truth of the matter is, it put's some of her better contempories to shame of what can be achieved in the recording process of music.

  • @rogerhoward555 The fun part is that this song sounds just as good when she does it live. The frist time I heard it was when I went to see her in a small venue here in Vancouver and it was great.

Many seem to fall appart in a live setting, but her live shows are every bit as good as her album songs. If you like her songs and get a chance to see her live, I'd deffinatly reccomend it.

  • she's right! i can always hear my cock throb when i watch her videos. damn, she was sooo cute.

  • Hottest redhead of the '90s.

  • another stellar Vega song, thanx VEVO!!

  • I like them, too

  • @caedmon1981 yeah, but you don't want to say anything that might be construed as racist otherwise you'll incur the wrath of the THUMB.

be careful there are a lot of hyper sensitive people watching you.

  • I am not a racist, but hyper sensitive people can as well go fuck themselves.
